Hello All-

I am planning a vacation in the end of July and will be driving from Calgary, Alberta south through Glacier National Park to Kalispell Montana, then back north to Calgary- Just wondering if any of you have driven in or around the park and had any advice like which roads are full of RV's or where I can find 318 corners in 11 miles:)

And No- most unfortunately I will not be driving a 7, but I will be scouting for future trips!

I haven't personally, but last time my dad was there he got a nice ticket for 55 in a 40. Apparently in MT you can pay the officer directly which he did. Sounds a little sketchy to me, but it never showed up on driving record, so who knows.

So I would say watch your speed, it would seem the rangers don't mess around much.

It's been 20 some years since I've been to Glacier, but drive the Going to the Sun Highway through the park. It's fabulous!

I did the road to the sun on a motorcycle two years ago - 15 to 20 miles an hour but absolutely beautiful.

Ditto Going to the Sun road, 4 years ago. Fabulous. Elevation increase 2400' on the one side and 3700' descent on the other.

A friend recently did it on a bicycle, as part of his cross country ride (and they say Seven-ers are crazy!). There is a rule that bikers have to hit the Summit by noon or turn around. He left at 5:00am and didn't quite make it. The park ranger told him to turn around . Using his vast skills as a trial attorney, he persuaded the ranger to change his mind. Anyhow, spectacular views, surrounded by mountains, glaciers, countless scenic overlooks, etc..
