scannon
RIP David. The GBB spent most of a day at his shop. We had a great time and some repairs were made on one of the Caterhams in his shop. Many local Se7en owners showed up with some very interesting cars including one with an Alfa Romeo drive train (the OPs 7?). David offered rides in his supercharged Hayabusa engined Caterham. I was the only one who took him up on it. It was a ride I will never forget. Brutal acceleration and braking. He also held a record for speed, driving in reverse which he fortunately didn't demonstrate while I was riding with him. Taber10
RIP David. What a great guy, and his repair to my CAT7SV during GBB was critical to me at the time. Not to disagree with Skip--noted scholar, driver and overall gentleman that he is--but Joan also got a ride in the Hayabusa-powered car--I know cause she has never stopped talking about David, the ride, and SKIP for that matter! scannon
Taber, I didn't know there was one other than myself brave (foolish?) enough to ride with Dave. It doesn't surprise me as Joan was brave enough to drive the next leg of the GBB in the Bear Slayer Caterham after the six of us got it road worthy in a few hours using crude tools and a piece of rope to align the front end. Brave lady indeed.
