Roy
When I was in high school, I helped my father build a Rotus that was custom made for our tall family and Buick V8 engine. I have been wanting to see the car again as it left Canada many years ago. It is easily recognizable by the Offy valve covers, and the last I saw it, someone put cheesy fake knock offs in the wheels. (We melted the original plastic centre caps at Shanninville Motorsport Park). I will try to upload pics as I find them, but there are 2 pics in a google search. My my father recently suffered a massive stroke and his stable of cars are quiet. I want to find this toy and possibly return it to him before he is gone. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Roy
I don't seem to be able to upload the images from my iPad, not sure what I am doing wrong. Ironically, the images on the google search are from this forum dated around 2002 when the car was leaving its third owner in Coe Hill Ontario. Interesting that it made it so close to home after being sold at the Carlisle market in PA. Edited November 5, 2016 by Roy Wrong info
Roy
I'm disappointed, but not surprised to have no leads on this car in 6 months. It's probably wadded up on a greasy bend somewhere, that V8 would easily catch you if you weren't ready. anyway, pop turns 75 in a week, and he is too ill to see 76, so this is a shameless bump on my own thread to see if any info might turn up. Even a recent pic would be a great gift.

Roy
yes, it was the aluminium Buick mill. A torque monster for that coat considering it weighed about the same as the commonly used VW 4 pot
Chet0213
I just picked one up in PA. It was from the original owner though who lived in Delaware. I actually grew up in Hagerstown where the cars were built and my father worked there so I have always been a huge fan. Mine too has the offy valve covers. Croc
Chet0213 - I guess you picked up the car in the attached link? https://www.ebay.com/itm/1967-Lotus-Super-Seven-1988-Rotus-V8/183534604532?hash=item2abb83d0f4:g:FFMAAOSwN3Nb60E7:rk:1:pf:0&vxp=mtr
Chet0213
Yes that is correct. I have all of the original documentation and technically this was an estate sale so the dealer only made the trasaction happen as I picked the car up last week and the Original owner had passed and his sister was there to meet me and do the paperwork.
