Hi , as anyboody used a Mazda Miata for a doner car to build locost/tiger etcs. Im interested in any info ,my choice of a Miata, is because they are more availible in the states than the Fords for parts ,I know one person downunder has done this using the subframes ,Engine etc, just wondering if anyone here has done this & could give some info ,thanks Larry

A friend scratch built a 7 using a Miata donor and measurements from my Caterham SV which used a Miata engine and transmission instead of the Zetec engine and T5 trans. He is a machinist and his work is of the highest quality.

My Westfield used a Miata donor car. Engine, trans, diff, halfshafts, wheels, brakes, wiring harness, instrument cluster (though I did my own cluster with all VDO because the steering wheel hid too much), ECU, and a lot of little things like the air cleaner, etc. The driveshaft was custom, as the car is shorter and the engine is entirely behind the front "axle".

I also built the Westfield kit using an NA I had been driving for years. As Dan said, the kit comes with a frame and a-arms. It does use the miata's hubs. I wrote up some of my experiences here, and I'd be happy to answer any questions you have.
