Seem there's a crack at the top of mine, not major, can they be purchased in the US or as I read in the wanted forum is the best plan to go visit a glass shop and ask them to cut a piece to size?

No desperate rush to replace but when I do I want to either powder coat, paint or plastidip it black too.

I had a piece of plexi cut for mine at a local glass shop and I have an extra windshield as well. I think I could have cut it better myself using a hand held jigsaw.

I have a tiny crack on the edge of mine: had a local glass shop drill a hole at the end to prevent it from spreading. another option is to save your aluminum edging and have a new screen cut from safety glass or similar by a local shop adn then reassemble. The disadvantage is you loose the integral heating wires doing this.

Thanks Paul, not too bothered about the heater. There’s a glass shop down the road so I’ll see what options they have. The crack isn’t significant so I’ll hold on as I’d like to combine replacing it with paint/powder the frame and headlights black.

Registration issues are much more significant just now, lots of feelers out there just hoping for good leads or I need to head to the DMV to plead my case for Classic or Hot Rod status.

I had the glass replaced on my 1962 7 last summer ($150) Local shop cut safety glass and mixed up some "special sauce" since the rubber seal was rotted.

Fits and looks nice and seems to be as waterproof as a 7 can be :)

I soaked the screws and got them and the frame loose before giving it to the shop, but left the broken glass in place.

Good Luck - Joe
