Tom,

It's a street car with some autocross duty. Current head is a 2.3 Ranger version that we plan on cleaning up with a fresh valve job, new cams, new buckets, and the existing valves, dual springs and Ti retainers.

More parts have finally started arriving: the torque plate last week, the correct (!) set of pistons today. I hope to have enough bits to visit the machine shop next week. I still need studs for the mains before we can drop the block off.

I was hoping to get the car running next month, but obtaining parts has been slow. The good news is once the machining is done things should go together quickly.

It's finally running again :driving:. That took a bit longer than expected, but I guess I didn't expect to rebuild the engine either! We've got a few heat cycles on the it and I think we're going to toss the car on the dyno tomorrow to do some break in/mapping. I did take a couple of laps around the parking lot and remember why I jumped off this bridge! If the weather is nice this weekend I'll do some more "break in".
