slngsht
through the foggy parts of my mind (there are lots of those), I'm starting to see a little creation... kinda sounds like a high revving mofo too. of the middi single seat variety. :leaving:

slngsht
???? http://locostusa.com/forums/files/dsc00720s_668.jpg :nonod: More like a formula SAE type of contraption. Of course there is no NEED for such a thing, but I think there is a WANT. And this is not to replace the Rotus, although the vette will surely have to go  Not in the immediate future anyway, but I've been doing some reading, and that almost always results in action. Al N.
can we have a USA7s.org east mid-atlantic FSAE car that we collectively own, tune, and "campaign"?

Cool. For a second there, I thought that you had read my mind and were talking about the F1000 car that I plan to design and build for the next project... slngsht
Cool. For a second there, I thought that you had read my mind and were talking about the F1000 car that I plan to design and build for the next project... F1000 is pretty sweet. Of course, when I say FSAE, I don't really mean those specs... I mean, who would build a car like that, and only put a 600cc motor in there? Actually, since I don't ever plan to race in any sanctioned series, I just want to build something fun. Busa engine comes to mind, but it's so damn expensive after the sump and all that. Maybe the R1 or another 750cc to 1L engine. Also minimalist body work... F1000 probably requires way more body work than I could handle. An air cooled 2 stroker, skip the diff (I don't know if this would fly) would be pretty awesome to try too, but I'm not familiar with what's in the market. Talk about super lightness. Basically an overgrown gokart with actual suspension and roll/safety structure. Anyway, at this point, I'm just taking mental notes. Looking through the dp1 site, it is both fasinating and discouraging how much work goes into a properly designed and built car - although mine will be definitely more "backyard" than that kind of effort. Do you have any plans for how to bend those tubes? The mkdevelopments car is pretty much along the lines of what I had in mind. Pretty cool. Jon W.
You can bend them with a hicost or locost bender. Locost version: http://usera.imagecave.com/jawinter/2007-03-11-01.jpg
