Jonnydutt
Looking for front shocks for my 93 Series 3 Caterham, new or used. I just brought a car over from the UK and one of the shocks is shot, I think it is a Bilstein type, thanks
Anker
I am looking at these: https://www.nitronusa.com/buy-online/automotive/caterham/narrow-track-de-dion/narrow-track-de-dion-pre-1996---96-/caterham-narrow-track-de-dion--pre-96--ntr-r1-suspension-kit They seem to have the features I want at a reasonable price. Jonnydutt
these look beautiful but out of my budget unfortunately, thanks for sharing the link!
The Stig
Gaz or Avo from the uK is a good option. Cost with shipping is not too bad.

That is for a set of four, with springs. Give them a call and ask what a front set will cost. Personally I would not replace a subset of shocks with a different brands. Changing brand is best done with all four at the same time.

Jonnydutt
Thanks John, it is jonnydutt@yahoo.com . I do have a set of used front shocks and springs on their way from the UK right now but just in case they don't fit please let me know what you have. Thanks again! Kitcat
I have a used set of 4 adjustable Caterham shocks. And I am in Cincy:). Out of town til March 8. Can’t give any details except I bought them from Craig Chima, but never got around to installing. Not sure if single or double adjustable. Cleaning out my basement so will offer at an attractive price.
Jonnydutt
Hi Kitcat, I would definitely like to take a look at them. I just got a set of very clean, used (standard) shocks and springs in from the UK but like the idea of some adjustable units. Please give me a shout when you get back into town, cheers, Jonathan

SevenAmerica
Hey, sorry I didn't get back to you, but it sounds like you're all set!
Jonnydutt
Actually I am still struggling, the original shocks are 12.5” hole to hole and the ones that arrived are about 14” so I’m not sure what to do now other than look in the UK again, thanks
SevenAmerica
ahh ok, should be warmish tomorrow here in Michigan, and I need an excuse to go digging in the garage! I'll be in touch once I find them. Tell me though -- your 'hole to hole' measurement -- is that static length off the car, with the coil springs? Cheers!
Kitcat
Jonny: I just remeasured mine and they are 12&1/2” hole to hole, 14” overall.
Jonnydutt
Awesome, is it possible to come see them tomorrow? Thanks
Kitcat
Sure. I will send you an e-mail.
SevenAmerica
Here ya go! That front with the spring on it is pretty right on to 12 inches hole to hole. I can take a more precise measure if your interested... They do look a little ugly in the photo.
Jonnydutt
Thanks John, I did pick up a set of shocks from KitKat earlier this week so I am going to try those on this weekend to see if they are OK. If these fail I will definitely give you a shout, thanks!
