Well here is the report on the Kansas City All British Car Show that was held this weekend. 180 cars total. Most were extremely well done. All kinds of cars from per war MG’s to modern Jag’s and Lotus’. There was even a British made Dutton 7 there. The only one I have ever seen in person. I had two Locosters show up from the list, One from the middle of Kansas and one who drove all the way from Chicago just to see my car (now that’s impressive). I talked to several people who would like to build someday so I gave them a sheet of paper with the web sites and book names on it for them to investigate. I even had one couple that the wife WANTED her husband to build a Locost. Man that is 90% of the hurdle, right there. Lotus class (my class) had 4 cars in it. A beautiful $60k Elise, a neat Europa that had a cool zetec conversion in it (including 2000 driving miles worth of bugs from going to LOG in Colorado), an extremely clean white (and fast) Turbo Esprit, and my lowly Locost Se7en. Damn it was hot and sunny out on that grass all day Sunday. Oh yeah, back to the results. The Europa got 3rd, the Esprit got 2nd, and....................................................................................... I got FIRST!!!!!! I think all the old British cars felt some kinship with my car. This is the most competition that I have had to go against and to beat out all those REAL Lotus’, I am humbled. Still thinking about a time for The Midwest Se7ens Gathering in 2008. Labor Day was nice but HOT!!!!! Maybe early June might be better. Any Ideas??? Russ
