mca
Hello All, I'm trying to get my CSR 260 repaired and back on the road from a rear differential mishap a few weeks ago. I've ordered the upgraded diff struts and hardware from Beachman Racing. I would like to source a pinion seal for the Ford Sierra differential due to some leakage between the differential and propshaft. I'm told it is a Ford sierra differential with an OEM ford seal part #6099522. I found a cross reference to Corteco #01033752B I already checked with Beachman Racing in Seattle. Bruce reports the seal is OOS at Caterham UK. Any ideas for alternate sources? My google/ebay search has so far come up empty. Thank You, Aaron
MV8
A sierra is a Merkur XR4Ti here and the diff is shared with the Merkur Scorpio which uses the same pinion seal but those numbers don't match it. It could be the only difference is the U.S. spec seal has an added dust lip that might interfere with the pinion flange and could be cut back with a razor blade. Take a look at SKF 15882 or Timken 2011s or you could just buy this one: https://shop.grahamgoode.com/grear-pinion-oil-seal--ford-sierra-sapphire-escort-rs-cosworth-4wd-ggr1118-79296-p.asp
JohnCh
This site has a lot of information on the various Sierra diffs that might help: http://www.super7thheaven.co.uk/components/sierra_rear_differential/ -John
mca
Thank you @MV8 for the cross reference. My previous search yielded only European websites and sources. I have ordered the SKF seal from RockAuto (Timken was OOS) so we'll see how it fits. $15 is worth a try. @JohnCh thanks for the reference on Sierra differentials. I have come across that website in my recent searches but haven't yet deciphered the exact origin of my differential.
