xflow7 Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 I was browsing Jazz CD's recently and noticed that Miles Davis's Bitches Brew has a Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics sticker on it. So, one of the seminal jazz fusion albums, that is entirely instrumental, from an artist who is one of the undisputed giants of 20th Century American Music gets labeld Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics because the word "bitch" appears in the title? You have got to be kidding me.
slomove Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 Well, I would not dispute that the world had lost it's mind. However, I guess this nice example of mindlessness is pretty much US-specific. :jester: Gert

xflow7 Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 Blame Tipper Gore! Rob Indeed. But even if you support advisories on some of the blatantly violent and misogynistic stuff out there, it amazes me that something as innocuous as that album would get tagged (and I realize there is an argument of moral relativism there). I suppose it's a case of "label anything including the word 'bitch'," so it gets lumped in with all kinds of other crazy stuff. Oh well.
