SENC
Standard 10 rear end? Any idea the ratio of the diff? What's the history on it?
Vinman1
Henry, From photos, it is standard 10. There are nubers on the hub, but too hard to read. It originated and was set up by Raceware Inc, which was a Seven parts supplier and Caterham dealer in Marblehead MA, 40+ years ago. It has all the mounts for suspension & E brake and has been kept inside since. The Ratio is 3.63 : 1 and it measures 53.5" from hub face to hub face (without brake drums on). Brake drums, shoes, spring kits, and wheel cylinders are NOS. Vin
SENC
Thanks Vin, I was hoping it was an original 4.11. I don't have an immediate need, have just been keeping an eye open for a reasonable cost backup knowing the limited lifespan these rear ends. Maybe I should be thankful, Mass would be a long way to go for a backup!
Vinman1
Henry, The tail of the Dragon is on my bucket list along with a Nascar experience ride. When I make down there, I will find you and deliver it! Best to you and your family, Vin
SENC
It's on my list, too. Let me know when/if you go and I may try to meet you for a ride! And if you still have the axle, we can discuss doing a deal for it.

lotsats
I am interested in the rear disc brake set up. Would need, of course, to make sure it will fit properly. The car is a 1966 Lotus 7 Series 2 I recently finished restoring. A prior owner converted it to a Ford rear axle (front hubs changed too). The car is far from original and standard steel wheels have been replaced with 13 inch Panasport alloy wheels. Obviously, I would need to know if the brace will fit inside these wheels. Vinman1
Lotsats, Great looking Seven! It is doubtful that the rear disc set up will work with 13" rims, I had to machine some of the high spots off the calipers and use longer studs & 9.65mm wheel spacers to get my K&N rims to clear. That caused the P20560 to be too close to the fenders, so I went with drums instead of replacing the tires which were brand new. My rear is Cortina GT which I believe is wider than standard Cortina and it looks like you have narrower tires. Vin
