slngsht Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 I always knew there was a need for side windows in the cockpit
stevet Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 I saw this on another site at the weekend. Here's a tip: do not spend a bunch of time on this site before taking someone (or yourself) to the airport - not good for the nerves!
JBH Posted March 4, 2008 Posted March 4, 2008 Really, it was a bad decision to attempt a landing. During the approach, the pilot knew the crosswinds were very strong. Coming into Orlando one day, I was in a 737 attempting a landing during thunderstorms. As soon as we started going sideways the pilot called off the landing and circled back around. It's not a comforting feeling to see the nose pointed at an angle of 30-40 degrees to the length of the runway.
slomove Posted March 4, 2008 Author Posted March 4, 2008 I just read that th 24-year old co-pilot was in control during the approach. After she got in trouble the captain pulled it out. Makes me wonder about judgment....
