He's gonna need more than a hose clamp for that

I think that if you used a more simplistic approach that it makes perfect sense. A v-band clamp at the turbo, a flex connector, a clamp at the balance point. The system is less than 4 feet in legnth.

... and with that, major hacking operations on Frankn7 are over. The frame will have 4 tubes added as diagonal braces for the tunnel, as well as curved pieces on the outside, behind the driver elbow. Then it's off to the dash tubes, skinning and reassembly. Front suspension will stay as is for now, until the rest of the car is pretty much back together.

Arya also weighed some of the components, and surprisingly, his massive engine cradle is actually lighter than the stock LS1 motor mount adaptors by about 4 pounds. It should stiffen up the chassis as well, as it ties the middle of the engine bay from side to side.

We will loose another 30 lbs by switching to headers and lighter mufflers. There is also another 20-30 lbs of framing, windshield, etc... that won't be going back on. and another 10-15 lbs of electronics.

These losses should more than offset the weight gain for the proper roll bar and strengthened trunk area.

To the United Ebrahimi Racing Federation:

I’m submitting the following mediation request. Notice in the below picture the extensive damage to the rear suspension. The rear axle buttress indicates that the bracket is overstressed. The redesign is pending review from the legal department. Once that process is approved the fabricator can start the approved repair process. In light of this I believe that it would be agreous not to spot me (2) Fosters to level the playing field.

Bob, on mine, the bracket goes all the way around the axle tube which puts alot less stress on the welds during acceleration:

I can't take credit for the design. It has held up fine with no signs of cracking.

Arya:

After reading a few reviews, and prepared for the “wrath” of Steve I must admit that I may have picked the wrong beer. Is this going to start a fight?

Foster's Special Bitter is yet another lame offering from the folks at Foster's breweries. This beer does have a nice bronze color and it does produce a good amount of foam. But that's where the good qualities end. It is all downhill from there.

This beer is labeled as a bitter. If you have tasted a true English Bitter, you will know that Foster's Special Bitter is unworthy of its name. There is virtually nothing, aside from the color, that validates Foster's claim that this beer is anything like an English Bitter. It has a dry, watery flavor profile and a bad aftertaste. Foster's Special Bitter starts out with a bland taste of grain, then it finishes with a slightly bitter flavor. The taste is like drinking a glass of hard water.

The alcohol level is very low in this product, only 2.8%. This is a good quality, I suppose, for those who are designated drivers. For the rest of us, the low alcohol level, coupled with the watery body and the weak flavor profile, make this beer a forgettable experience.

I cannot think of any food that would be compatible with this beer. As far as occasions go, perhaps it could be served during a wintertime gathering of friends who have bad colds or the flu. They wouldn't be able to taste anything, so you wouldn't be criticized for serving such bad beer.

Foster's Special Bitter is a very weak, flimsy, beer product. It might be a little bit bitter, but it's far from being special.

Rear Suspension:

When I started the project I purchased a Busa engine. It’s a book frame and I just fabricated the bracket that they recommended. I’m going to fire up the plasma cutter and try to improve the design.

Bob, may I suggest utilizing a bracket that has welds/gusseting inline with the axle tubes? This will signicantly improve the torsional resistance of the bracket. Something similar to the bracket on the right, where the bracket on the left is more like your existing situation.

Arya:

I have some room beside the brackets, so that I,m thinking of adding some addational support like you are describing. The top portion of the brackets are OK.

well, arya and I are planning on converging on the car tomorrow afternoon, and leaving 24 hours later after dropping the engine in, doing the rear upper suspension links, and painting the new tubing.

I'm bringing her back with me so I can get a little more work done on her. That dinner is a real motivator :D

The "new" Miller tig is as smooth as it gets. I went to Dillsburg, Pa yesterday and picked up a 4x12 sheet of 2024 T3 Alcad to reskin the Seven. I need to have the car road worthy by the first part of May as I would like to "drive" to 3 events.
