yeah, that bimmer did seem to get confused on whether it wanted to actually particpate on a gravel rally stage.

did u really run with the GPS in the car?

When I saw all the big dust cloud I thought he went off deep, so I slowed just in case he was coming back onto the track.

GPS, Yes, used it to record max speed.... Told the other drivers I had the track programed in

so I would know what turn was coming up next...... a little psychological warfare... :D

VIR full course. Down the back stretch 166 mph just over the hump (Dry track) I wanted to see 170 but I barely got slowed down enough to make the turn as it was.

We did have cloud cover and my digital dash was not picking up the sensor on the trans, so it could be more or less.

We purchased a radar gun for our next event at buttonwillow so we can verify our speed.

Surprisingly we ran 137 mph at TWS in the rain. Some one told me there is a picture of us coming down the front stretch blowing a 30 ft rooster tail. I have not seen it.

I had the wings pushed to about 35 degrees to get all the down force I could out of the car.

damn... 166 over the hump :willy:

I've only done parade laps at VIR. It'll take me some time to keep my foot down over the hump there. As I recall you can't see over the hump until you're at the top, then down the hill and have to lay on the brakes for a left hander, right?

With those monster meats on your car and all that torque I'm sure you will be right there if you keep your foot in it. It is a bit unnerving going that fast and not being able to see where you are going to land, but after you have done it several times you will get the hang of it. Main thing is to get lined up properly for the braking zone. the good thing is that there is not alot to hit if you don't get it right...:) I can't wait to see that beast of yours on the track..
