johnh
Or this? Hey John, Ask Mike about 'Forks of Salmon'. I think he's the only one from PNW2007 that took that route... But the rest looks pretty good!

JohnCh
Ask Mike about 'Forks of Salmon'. I think he's the only one from PNW2007 that took that route... I read that was a pretty good road. I take it the pavement isn't the greatest? I had planned to pick up a copy of the new Destinations Highway for Nor Cal to help with road selection, but they have jacked the prices way up, so I think I will try a subscription to Pashnit instead. MoPho, the Lotus event sounds like fun, but OR in October sounds pretty risky to me. The weather up here tends to take a turn for the worse in late September, and although the inland area may not be that wet, it will probably be pretty damn cold for se7ens. -John

You due have to service it during those 5 days that you don't drive it....

I can't believe they picked that location and date. The last one was held in Big Sur during May. The first two days of the event were beautiful and the event fantastic, but it poured rain for the last day, my wife and I had to drive home in the Elan for 6 hours in the rain, no top or side windows (very Sevenlike) it sucked! JohnCh
I can not belive someone from Washington is saying that Oregon might be wet and cold in October Not sure why you are surprised. It's not like I said that was a bad thing I used to live in Santa Barbara, so I am quite familiar with perfect se7en weather. But getting back on topic...I just subscribed to Pashnit and wil try to put together a few options this week for 3 and 4 day tours based on information there. -John
Jim F.
Interesting! After living in Santa Barbara for 43 years, in Nov. of '99 we moved up here to Grants Pass and have no regrets (even weather-wise). Canyonville is only 40 miles north of GP and I'm definitely planning on attending. Granted, the cool temps. start to become apparent around that time, but generally not until the middle of Oct. onward. We live in what's called the "banana belt" and don't get the "drastic" weather that might be expected in the Ashland area. We love the experience of the four seasons. Lush and green the further north you go. Ask JohnCh about the beauty of Washington state! We (I) look forward to our annual trip to Skagit Speedway for Dirt Cup (sprint cars) in mid June and admire the outstanding beauty. We put the motorhome in an RV park in Anacortes, and I drive the 25 miles each day to the track. Sorry to "go on" off topic........ BTW, the Canyonville meet is expecting between 200-300 cars.
