Avery Waterman Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 There currently are 2 postings: (1) 1980 Caterham in NY with 8,000 miles at $18,000 with 3 days to go; and (2) 1990 Birkin in Edmonton with 10,000 miles for $17,500 "buy it now" at $0 with about 6 days to go. Sandy
Al N. Posted June 18, 2008 Posted June 18, 2008 Cat looks to be in nice shape...odd color combo though...
Avery Waterman Posted June 19, 2008 Author Posted June 19, 2008 Today there is a 1976 Blakely with 12,000 miles for $12,000.00 "buy it now". Sandy
banjo29 Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 This one (Donkervoort?) is interesting, it is Honda S2000 powered, and has "world class" in the title, but's it's not an Ultralite and the body looks more like a Stalker than a WCM S2K... It's also listed in Parts > Wheels & Tires > Wheel Lugs , not exactly where I personally would list it... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lotus-Super-Seven-2005-unique-world-class_W0QQitemZ330245996502QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item330245996502&
Mandurath Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Of course I am kinda biased, as like the Red Baron (the seven I have on a pedestal), the above Blakely on ebay is powered by the same set up, which is also mine. Its performance is pretty impressive, its wet weight sans driver is 1650. Portly compared to some sevens but itis still pretty fast. Not to shabby for an old iron block Lima. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=002&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=120274580984&rd=1 (Read-Wife said No, and said it far less politely)
MHKflyer52 Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 (Read-Wife said No, and said it far less politely) Wifes can be that way.
Mandurath Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Know when to hold em, know when to fold em. I tend to operate under the "It's better to ask for forgiveness rather than ask for permission.", but not in this case.

Words of a SMART MAN who wants to live in the house and not the garage.....:jester:

soareyes Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Sugino's old Seven is back up for sale! Sugino's Seven on ebay
Avery Waterman Posted June 25, 2008 Author Posted June 25, 2008 Yesterday was told I could have the Sugino for only $95,000.00 . . . . Sandy
Al N. Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Yesterday was told I could have the Sugino for only $95,000.00 . . . . Sandy All it will take is $95k to get over my sellers remorse?....hmmm...
soareyes Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 IIRC, last time it was on ebay, top bid was about $75,000 and didn't meet the reserve. I sure it is worth every penny of $95,000 if you have that to spend on a Seven!
Al N. Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 No seriously, can one of the wealthier guys from the forum just buy Sugino's car so we can make sure it stays in good hands? And make sure to buy the custom made transporter if it's still for sale. Maybe John V.'s boss could buy it.....
MoPho Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 My Friend Gil took the studio shots of the car When Eric bought the car, he also had bought my friends incredible Cosworth powered Elan at the same time, so he showed up in Sugino's transporter to pick up the Elan. (to my disappointment he had left the Seven in AZ to pick up on the way back) The transporter is amazing too, it was so custom fit to the Seven that we had to let the air out of the tires in the Elan (which is tiny too) to get it in the truck and it still barely fit.
Sevnn Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 Sugino's old Seven is back up for sale! Sugino's Seven on ebay If I was in the market for a 7 in that price range I'd be ALL over that. That is without a doubt the most impressive 7 I've ever seen. I'm sure they are very proud, as they should be.
Avery Waterman Posted June 26, 2008 Author Posted June 26, 2008 Sugino says $65K previously was paid for it on eBay and that there now is $100K in it. I do not doubt that, that is it "worth" $95K. But that is one hunk of cash, insurance and taxes for a Se7en, a Se7en that you probably would not want to drive very much at all because of its condition, looks and cost. In a way, it is too good for its own good. Sugino needs a museum or pure collector as purchaser, which may prove the proverbial "needle in a haystack" to find.
Mandurath Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Curious how many, like this one are actually known by a name?
