A big thanks to Dave Mk1!

If you notice I've been quiet on the forum the past few weeks, it's not because I am in between cars — I was on vacation. Visiting Glacier National Park and Yellowstone.

And, fellow Se7ener, Dave Kirk.

When I found out that Dave was a custom bike (high-end road bicycles) builder, I immediately thought of my father-in-law (whom many of you may have met at 7-7-7), an avid cyclist who has about as much in his titanium Merlin road bike as some people have in their Locost homebuilts.

Dave seemed open to having visitors — so we dropped in on him between national parks. He even took my F-I-L out for a bike ride on Montana roads, something he's always wanted to do.

A big, public thanks to Dave for hosting a fellow Sevener and his family. Here's a pic of Dave and my in-laws (he's very tall, BTW, so people with "will I fit" questions should direct those his way).

Yes, very nice work.

Even more beautiful in the metal. His Se7en (Birkin) ain't bad either. In the words of Ferris Bueller, "It is so choice If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up."

wheres the bike rack on the birkin?

Actually, Dave does have a very trick rear-mount rack for his auto-x slicks. Since he's a welder by trade, I'm sure he could easily come up with a solution for a bike or two.

Hey there,

The pleasure was all mine with your visit. The ride with Joe was great and hanging and talking for a bit with others that understand the Seven thing was really fun too.

You all are welcome anytime.

Thanks much. Beautiful work. Neighbor couple are avid cyclers and racers, and he even runs a mountain bike race each year in Ontario. He explains bikes and races to us proles in the neighborhood. Forwarded the link to them, with instructions that when their beautiful 4-yr-old graduates to a "real" bike, the neighbors will not allow her on off-the-rack equip.
