Flibbie
able sit in your LSiS in one stint. I'm working on the seat padding for my car. At present I am able to last about 1 1/2 hours between stops. It doesn't seem to matter whether I'm driving around town or back roads. Just curious how often others need to stop and stretch. Jim
MHKflyer52
Hi Jim, Never really check time just know that it seems that when ever I am out in my car just running around on the back roads it is usually 50 to sixty miles between stops unless something of interest strikes my curiosity or the group that I run with stops of some reason. I think the longest distance I have gone in one drive is 250 miles one way but again we stopped for fuel (food and beverages) and some folks did top up the fuel in their cars like me (4.5 gal. into a 6 gal. fuel tank--my average fuel mileage is only about 28 miles to a gallon) and also checked their cars for things coming loose as most of them are considered weekend toys or collector cars. On average I would have to say about an hour maybe a little more before for me besides I am not in a big hurry to get anywhere when I am driving my 7 as it is for fun and relaxation more than anything else. Shortest ride recently for me was 49.231 seconds over a 3/4's mile auto-x course with 22 corners (local Porsche Club). I had the forth fastest time of the day and most likely my best run ever in my 7 as I dropped almost a full second from my best time prior to that run. The FTD was 48.794 seconds by a Mazda Speed Miata, Second fastest time was by a Porsche GT3 who was having a hard time keeping all the power to the surface of the course with a 48.994 second run and the third fastest time was a Boxter S with a 49.154 second run. Out of 84 cars that participated the average best time overall was 54.541 seconds with the slowest time being 72.734 seconds.
KiwiBirkin
Im able to go for about 4-5 hours possibly even longer, but then I have changed my seats in my Birkin S3 to a more comfy design for this reason as I want to use the car to do some touring of new Zealand, you can see the changes under the members rides section. When I am driving the Honda Accord I get a bit stiff after 2 hours. Same in the Seven but otherwise I have been driving 8 hours or so no problem. I have the Cobra Roadster7 seats. scannon
The longest stint I have driven was about 3 hours. My car has the factory Caterham fabric covered seats and is very comfortable. My driving range is more limited by my bladder capacity than seat comfort or the 10 gallon fuel tank. The only uncomfortable part of driving my Caterham is the wind beating up the left side of my face. I wear an earplug in my left ear which helps a lot.
