Novice assistance / ridealong?

I’ve been reading this forum and others for several years of dreaming of owning a seven. Considering my resources and time I would really enjoy the experience of assembling my own. However, my previous purchase plan was delayed a few years for a career change and move to Kentucky. Conveniently Kentucky appears more favorable than many states when it comes to building and registering a seven. Other than bad timing on my part for the time of year (and time of day), I've come to the point where i need to seize the day and make a move.

Even though I’ve had the opportunity to see several seven's, the one thing protecting my wallet at this time is not having ridden in one. For a variety of reasons I'm interested in a westfield. I've read these prior discussions and know all models have their virtues but are all still great.

I would be grateful (and my wife unhappy :) if someone in Midwest (a few hrs drive from central Kentucky) could assist me with your wisdom and a ridealong in any model seven before i jump in unprepared.

Thanks

Paul

Where in central KY are you? I am in Cincy and wld be happy to do a ridealong, tho will be out the next 2 weekends. It is an excellent idea. I was shocked at how raw the car was during my first ride/drive (noisy/bumpy/windy, etc., nothing is filtered out).

I am the ohter way in Birmingham. My car is just finishing up some engine work and should be on the road within 3 weeks, if you care to come this way. Or make a nice weekend show in Atlana for the wife and I am sure a few 7ners there will help out.
