Worth a look: Allure of the Automobile I saw a preview of this show .. and I'll go back again. Some of the audio tour was narrated by Jay Leno.

Seriously .. how often does a major art museum feature cars?

I think this is a continuation of the Philadelphia Museum of Art when it had its presentation of selected cars from Ralph Lauren's private collection two or so years ago. The list of cars looks very similar to what I saw then. There was a very good program made at the time that still comes up every so often on the Discovery channel.

It is rare that a collection of this quality is put on display - should be well worth attending. Now how do I find an excuse to go to Atlanta.....?

The High has been direct in pointing out that this collection has nothing in common with the Philly or NY shows and is not a traveling exhibit. I was going but the group sales office has upset me somewhat so I am indifferent at this time. (I was only bringing 2 buses of people and they felt that was not a large group.)

It is a wonderful collection and the only time that 48 Porsche has been on US soil (replica or not I have been told both and have not researched). Excuse to go to Atlanta? Well this exhibit. Then the micro car museum just outside Atlanta. afterward head over to Birmingham to see the Lotus collection there (if you do it right hit ether the IRL/Grand Am or The Legends of Motorsport events). Then up to Huntsville for the US Space and Rocket center all within a days drive of Washington DC. Or a long day from Jersey.
