difference in some of these cars

Recommended Posts

Hi, I am new here, and trying to learn more about these cars. I live 3 miles from Road America, so they are fitting.

I am looking for this type of body. (type R) is it called? My budget is on the lower end for this right now though, until I sell or trade my vette.

The Super Stalker looks even better though. I think I like this one a lot.

Do these cars have room for v8's to drop in, or is it a ton of fab work.

What is the average price for a starter, driver car?

Thanks

After checking out youtube, I want an MK Indy for sure.

welcome aboard. I'm 99c5vert on corvetteforum :)

First order of business is to get a ride in a few of these cars. I don't know who lives near you with a Seven.

If you can spare the time to come out to Carlisle kit car show, I'm pretty sure we will have at least one Stalker, one Ultralite, and one Caterham Superlight, as well as a Birkin and a couple of other variants of the Caterhams around, and I'm sure you can get a ride in all of them if you can fit.

If you are looking for the roomier cars, you'd want to check out the Stalker (standard 3800 V6 GM motor or SC verison of the same), WCM Ultralite (S2000 drivetrain), or Caterham SV (usually Ford 4 cylinder drivetrain). Caterham SV is their wider and longer chassis.

I know there is at least one Stalker with a LS1 in it. I'm not sure what was involved in that conversion.

Get a ride in as many as you can. All these cars have their own personality.

Not sure where you live in Wisconsin, but there is a SuperStalker with an LS3 installed located in the Chicago area.

Welcome to the dark side.

Got to agree with Jack, come down to the Chicago area and take a ride in the LS3 SuperStalker. Its not my car, but it is crazy quick. I would be happy to show you my build, I am almost complete on a Super Stalker. I am about half way between Rockford and Chicago.

Holy man thanks guys, this is unreal. I watched some youtube videos, and these things are great. This looks way better than a sports car.

Are there any opinions on the MK Indy kit cars? There are some real nice videos showing their performance capibilites, but I don't know if I can post them since they are on the road.

GBOLT, Sometime maybe I will have to do that. I really appriciate the offer.

Here I was looking for skip barber cars with the dodge motors in them, and these look more fun, and some are street legal.

It would take sooo much to make a vette act like one of these, this is definitely what I want I am glad I was referred here.

That has to be nuts with that power to weight ratio.

I found a a place to find more info on kits(motorcycle ones at least) i think these would be a blast, and probably more my style.

How common is this? This is right up my alley if I could find something like this I would be in heaven, but it seems it would be a lot more costly to maintain, and how much more fun are the big drive train parts compared to a bike set up?

We have several members with bike engined setups... off the top of my head:

Andrew7 has a Yahama setup

Hank has a hayabusa

BusaLoco

Jeff (R1Seven?)

OttoCycle has a hayabusa powered Fisher Fury

I think Locost 5.0 and I are the only V8's on here.

Completely different feel to the cars (bike to 4 cylinder, to V6/V8).

If you plan to enjoy the car on the street as opposed to heavy road racing / autox focus, I think a car engined setup is more practical (personal opinion).

Mazda,

I think you are correct regarding only two V8's that are on here with any regularity. However, I know of 5 Stalkers that have been converted to or newly built with V8's.

The Supercharged 3800 V6 SuperStalker is scary fast..!!!

I only knew of the one with the LS3. Invite 'em over here.
