Ruadhd2 Posted December 10, 2010 Posted December 10, 2010 Two cycle oil is mixed with the gas if the gas metering system has been removed from the engine, as is often the case. Mine's back on.
seamore Posted December 12, 2010 Posted December 12, 2010 Car has choke, oil pressure, oil temp gauge. Starts right up and is EXTREMELY LOUD... (This is awesome).
Off Road SHO Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Well then, Congratulations. Put up some pics when you get a chance if you don't mind. Tom
seamore Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 I did not purchase the beautiful vehicle, someone very lucky in Colorado got it...
Off Road SHO Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 If it sold why is it still listed? That is a beautiful car, in my favorite color also. Tom
seamore Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Nope sorry, I did not ask the previous owner that question.
speedwagon Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 just joined as this looks like one of the best sources of info, By way of introduction; i am the purchaser of the rotary s1, it is registered in utah as a 2009 after some dancing around, me thinks that California dmv was glad to see it go. it will be used mostly on the street, perhaps some "solo", actually I have a manx clone that is about as fast and comes close to handling as well. (Better on dirt or gravel). It was not a trailer queen and never will be again, am 69, a scouch immature, and do like to go fast. have done some off road and ran pikes peak in 72 open wheel. the si shows some quality and lack of engineering, and it looks like superformance has abandoned it as far as support goes, snakebite has a good engine install manual but looks as if you are on your own as far as the chassis goes, engine too in this one, it currently has a webber 48 and is na, having thoughts about a late jdm turbo motor. greetings, john
Kitcat Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Welcome-you will fit right in here! (And, let the upgrades begin:)). Mike M.
seamore Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Congrats John... My wife would not believe me when I told her that a 69 year old guy is going to drive down from Colorado to buy the car if didn't buy it right there on the spot. I was actually at his front door when you were talking to him on the phone... Once again, congrats on your purchase...
speedwagon Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 The seller told me that there was some guy who wanted it but his wife was making him sell one first. when I asked my ex bed warmer about it, she said "if you think you will have that much in your account when you die this would be a good place to spend it". Would have rather had a 4 stroke motor and since it is a driver the first thing that happened was two turbo mufflers to tone it down a bit. have limited experience with rotarys but have a set of turbos from the later models and also have a matched set of vnt-25s. it now has a 48 weber and may switch to a dell or a pair of su hifs and blow thru, it is a small car and needs to be kept simple. aging is mandatory, maturity is optional.
seamore Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Yes, I still had to sell my civic at that time. Funny thing, I ended up buying a 93 RX-7...
speedwagon Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 the truth be known, the rx-7 could be faster and is certainly more civilized. (very few of us are capable of stressing a 7), used mine on long road trips and even camped in it for a couple of weeks, too bad it had to scratch it's back.
