I have a 1977 caterham with bench seats and i am considering installing bucket seats.

Looking for info and pictures on how to install the bucket seats.

Thanks

My Caterham has two U shaped aluminum channels riveted to the bottom of the car. The seat mounts with four bolts through the floor and the channels. Pretty simple.

Here is a link to some photos of how I mounted my seats in my car.

Simple brackets for the passanger seat and sliders bolted to the floor for the drivers seat.

Hope this helps give you some ideas.

I bolted four lengths of steel bar to the bottom of the car and bolted the four runners through the floor to the bars. I used grade 8 bolts, washers and nuts throughout. The two Caterham seats are not going anywhere.

Thanks for the help guys.

Still deciding what to do. If I can locate some used type s seats for sale will probably go that route. The new one's from Caterham are too expensive for me by the time you get them to the door. I should have jumped on the ones that were for sale on this forum recently. I am contemplating making my own seats or finding some used Kirkeys or like. The current bench seat configuration has my feet to far from the pedals (only 5'6"), the car is driveable but have to slink down to fully depress clutch. I wonder if this is the first time someone has complained about the seven being too big!

Hi Trough

Check out this place in the UK, prices seem really good, I havn't used them so I cant speak with any authority as to how good their stuff is. A pair of seats for a seven for around 150 pounds. Thats around $240 Canadian, plus shipping of course. http://www.midlandwheels.com/

Hope this helps. Steve
