I had a quote for 745 british pounds in february this year. This was for a completed 7 type car and shipped to Halifax Canada. There are other fees associated with this cost as well.

I also had to get the car to the docks in england as well.

I emailed a few companies and http://www.shipmycar.co.uk was the only one that responed, give them a try.

I used a place called firstbase, to do a ro/ro from Southampton to Houston. When I was checking, there really wasn't much differences in the quotes I got -- maybe $50 bucks or so -- it's VERY competitive -- especially with the economy still a bit in the crapper. Then I got someone stateside to handle the paperwork as I was out of the country.

It makes a huge difference who ships the car. I shipped my 1992 Caterham last spring from England to Calgary and I did a lot of research into different methods available. The company I used was www.phoenix-cargo.com in England and the contact was Terry Pittaway. They have a lot of experience shipping cars from England around the world.

A couple of points to cover, ship it to the nearest port then have it shipped in bond by rail or truck to its final destination.Crates in bond are treated completely different. You need paper work for the wood used in crate that it has been treated and a statement of cleanliness for the kit but because it is new this should not be a problem. Customs love paperwork! Send me a PM if you have any other questions.
