It was dark by the time I got home...

Went out there with the iPhone and a flash light to take a look.

Overall, I'm very happy with how the car reacted to the beating it took. Basically the lower front edge of the frame hit the curb and folded until the tires got there and the car climbed on top.

I think the welds held up pretty well. My Aarms as 120 wall tubing. Heims are all 1/2"

Take a look

Yikes! I didn't realize it was your car you were talking about in the first post. Glad to hear you are OK, I guess you and your nephew will be busy in the shop for awhile.

yes, I had a passenger all day long. most runs with 2 instructors. Next to the last run was Scott Lentz. On the accident run, it was a guy with a vette who wanted to get a feel for a seven. LOL

Hi Mazda,

Well that all looks fixable.

Make sure you check the shocks and steering rack as they might look ok but could have bent the shaft and overstressed the mounting points. You might want to invest in a dye penatrent kit to inspect the parts that you want to reuse if any.

As for your rider at least he knows that a hit like that is survivable now and can be rebuilt.

Again glad you’re OK.

Sorry to hear about the damage, glad to hear you weren’t hurt…

The lot in Bowie has had incidents like this regularly for years. I've looked at the problem of accessing the lower lot safely and to the disappointment of a lot of drivers; I’ve concluded it can’t be done.

SCCA safety rules are an excellent base line for autocross course design, common sense is equally important. Running a performance driving course through hard obstacles 25 feet apart doesn’t pass either standard.

A lot of clubs use the lot in Bowie but only one I know of, doesn't use the lower lot.
