Thanks for that effort. Costs are being worked up now and things look very much like last year. Plenty of track time and a nice post-track avent, probably a tour similar to last year's. I can take admin questions at any time--eMail is easiest. Looking forward to a good event!

They have a reasonable tech inspection. Head needs to be below the rollbar with helment on. Fuel tank and battery secure. All lose items removed from the car. Check all suspension for play in the front end visual inspection of fasteners lug nuts. Seat belts 5 point.

I will have to check on cost.

The cost had not been determined as of yesterday but one of the organizers George said the costs would be similar to last year.....looked up the cost for last year:

This is what i found from last year, 2010.

Fri May 7 Track Day $35 for each 30-min session (ex: 4 x 35 = $140)

Sat May 8 Track Day 6 20-min sessions, probably $175

Sun May 9 Tour Day 1 overnight

Mon May 10 Tour Day 2 return to Cresson

The "overhead" ($50) will pay for box lunches Fri & Sat; group photo; bottled

water at the track; color tour route maps

  • 1 month later...

It looks like there will be 4 Caterham 7s and one Lotus 7 at the SCCA race at TWS this same weekend.

If your in the Houston area and can't make the Seven Fest stop by TWS on Saturday or Sunday and watch 7s rule E Production and F Production!

.........................................................................................

Greetings Folks,

This is our current entry list for the SW Se7ensFest at Cresson May 26-30. I expect a few more entries, and if you have leads, by all means, suggest that they get in touch with me. Here is the plan:

Thursday, May 26: arr Motorsports Ranch and set up, afternoon

track orientation for novices

Friday, May 27: MSR Track Day, 4 x 30 min @ $35

Sat, May 28: Apex Driving School all day, $210 each (probably 8 sessions)

Sun, May 29: Tour begins 0900; overnight Glen Rose, TX as last year

Mon, May 30: Tour concludes 1200 at Best Western

Hotel: Best Western, Cresson

Here are the track fees. We have some funds left over from last year; thus, this year's track fees will be slightly lower, plus we will have new accounting procedures. Friday's track sessions offer us flexibility in charging you for only what you drive. For now, please submit funds for 4 x $35 = $140. Saturday, we do not have flexibility; Apex has invoiced us a flat amount; 18 drivers means $210 each.

Friday 4 x $35 = $140

Sat = $210

total fee = $350

Please send a check payable to George Hillard; both track days ($350) or Saturday only ($210). I will serve as banker and will provide you a written statement of your charges, but keep in kind, Saturday is $210. I have flexibility for Friday.

Questions? Send me an eMail! Look forward to seeing everybody. Send the checks to:

George Hillard

7 Wisteria Way (good address, huh? "7")

Whispering Pines,

NC 28327-7131

See y'all there.

George

Thx for the help. I filled in the form and e-mailed it to the two individuals mentioned. We'll see if they respond. Pretty suspicious that no recent or official word posted from the alleged organizers about whether this event is actually going to happen, just old e-mails found and posted by others...

It's not a secret society but once you get on the mailing list you get frequent emails. The entry form gets you on the mailing list. Don't know why they don't publish it a bit more. This is a pretty big deal every year, and a lot of fun. It gets writted up in Kit Car Builder.

Got a quick reply from George, as follows:

"The event is on; the tour is Sunday 0900 through Monday noon, with an overnight stop at the Inn On The River in Glen Rose. Varied routes to choose from; less structured

event--groups of several cars may choose. No fee other than the Inn fee (call and ask for Amy). Saturday night is a BBQ place across from the Best Western in

Cresson; $9 for a BBQ plate or order from the menu. We are staying at the Best Western in Cresson. Tour mileage on Sunday probably 100+."

I planned to go last year but got rained out (open trailer). Hope to be there for at least one day this time.
