southwind25 Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 We are needing some spot lights for our new stepvan, and in the past have used a couple cheap-o fog lamps that we bought for like $15...they worked reasonably well for the use. They were used to simply light up the rear area for loading-unloading the trailer etc and need to light up about a 20' X 12 ' area.... looking at e-bay at more cheap-o foglights, i see they now have a whole selection of the LED foglights.. 6 led, 12 led, 28 led...etc.. are theese even worth the 10$ ? We dont need a hella flamethrower set..this is just for utility, but if they are worthless i dont want to get them either. thoughts?
jbanker Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 You might check out your local Tractor Supply or Farm and Fleet. They often have lighting to mounted on farm implements that may work for what you are trying to achieve. Jack
jimrankin Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 LED's use much less power, exspecially if wired/designed correctly, than incandescent bulbs. No heat to worry about, lighter gauge wire and best of all, if they are left on overnight, you can still start the car.
