KiwiBirkin Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 Hi guys I have sold a few of these to USA7 members and they have been really happy with the quality and how they look when put into a cars grill, I have had 3 orders from the OZClubbies lotus forum and need 5 to make it cost effective to get them cut. So if any one wants one let me know. Laser cut Caterham 7 front grill badge ideal for adding into your 7 replica/clubmans grill. Laser cut from 3mm mild steel so its thick enough to weld or braze in without any distortion to it. Size is 195mm wide x 185mm deep US $55 + postage (US $11 via airmail) Item is in NZ and postage is via airmail and they normally arrive within 5 working days. The only way to pay is via Paypal as its easy and the safest option and this is done once your grill is cut and ready to post. PM me or email me at Hotdognz@gmail.com if your interested or want any photos of what it will/can look like in your cars grill as I have one fitted in mine. http://i660.photobucket.com/albums/uu326/Hotdognz/bits%20and%20pieces/GrillMain.jpg Cheers Kiwibirkin
powderbrake Posted May 8, 2011 Posted May 8, 2011 I have one and it was easy to order and when received was as described. I welded some studs to it, painted it, and mounted in my Ultralite. I am very happy with the results. Here is a link to some pictures. http://www.usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=3769

KiwiBirkin Posted May 23, 2011 Author Posted May 23, 2011 Hi guys the grills have arrived and 10 have been sold, if you had a pre-order for one and have contacted me via email you will have received a email with payment details in it, as soon as payment is received the grills will be sent. This is also the last time I can sell them at this price as steel has risen 20% so the next lot will be a bit more expensive im afraid, Im still waiting on 3 more orders to be confirmed which leaves me 2 left out of the 15 at this stage if any one wants one. Thanks for your orders guys and I hope you like them when they arrive. Cheers Stephen

squarefour Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Mounted! I just polished it up with a buffing wheel and shot with clear engine enamel, which turned slightly yellow when I baked it.
MHKflyer52 Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 Very Cool looking. How did you mount it to the grill material? Can you post some other photos of your 7 and did you build your frame?
squarefour Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 I (carefully) welded some #6 threaded rod to the back and bolted to the stainless mesh with rubber washers and double-nutting. The mesh wobbles some (the 7 is surprisingly heavy) but I think it will hold. Yeah, I made the "442" frame. There's a build thread on the other forum. http://locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=98
MHKflyer52 Posted June 15, 2011 Posted June 15, 2011 squarefour, Wow.....Your so lucky that your car and house and garage where not a total loss... Glad to know their are other scratch built 7's on the forum. Nice build by the way.
KiwiBirkin Posted December 14, 2014 Author Posted December 14, 2014 I haven't been on these forums for a while as we have been pretty busy with our new lives in Australia, I have had requests from 3 USA7's forum members about these grills in the last week and they are being posted out tomorrow, I have 2 left if any members want some but will get more cut if it runs past the last 2. Best contact for me at the moment is to email me at hotdognz@gmail.com Cheers and a Merry Christmas guys.
