stalker options

That 5X120.7 bolt pattern seems like the options on wheels aren't as 'good' as some of the other spacings (guess that's what happens when you have a truck donor! LOL). Anybody with a stalker know what the options are? Most of the wheels seem like they are running around 16-17 Lb for a 15X7 wheel, which seems kind of high.

Anyway, Seems like the wheel options are pretty limited. I'm thinking could you get custom driller rotors with whatever bolt pattern, or are there some light-weight good looking wheels that I've missed?

Also, if you have a higher HP LS motor, say 400 HP, are the 205-50-15 enough? Seems like you'd want a little more rubber on the road. I think the 4X4 rear end is wider so you could run a larger neg offset, but that doesn't help out the front. It's be nice to keep them both the same. I would prefer not to run 8 Lbs of adapters.

Ideas?

VTO might be a good option if you like the Mini-light look. At least it is a proper looking style and I think they can drill 5 on 4.75 bolt pattern and spacing. I would go with the 15 x 7 with 205-50 x 15 tires all the way around even if it was a high HP superStalker.

Thanks Gary. I forgot about Team III. I think Compmotive makes a Mini-Lite style that will fit as well. Not sure about Panasport.

I think the Team III and VTO wheels are priced right.

I thought I would update the forum on my search for an 8 spoke "minilite" style wheel for my newly acquired Stalker. I wanted to purchase the Team III LT III wheels as I liked the looks of them. Turns out that Team III can no longer get the 15" centers for this wheel as there is so little demand. Bottom line, not enough profit for them. It looks like I will go with the Compomotive wheels as they ca provide exactly what I need (15 X 7, 5 X 4.75 pcd, negative 6.4mm offset) I like the VTO look, and price, but best I can determine they only have zero offset which will not satisfy my requirements.

Update: As of 4-25-2012, Team III has agreed to manufacture the 15" LT III wheel. It will take them about 4 weeks to get the 15" centers they need. So, about hte 3rd week in May they should be available.

Just an update on my selection process for a minilite type wheel for my Brunton Stalker. I ended up going with the VTO's mostly because of price. I ended up paying @ $770 for them including shipping. This was almost half the price of Compmotive and a little less than a third the price of Team III. The best I could do with VTO was a zero offset wheel, so in order to maintain the negative 1/4" offset of the S-10 wheel, I knocked the old studs out and put in longer studs from NAPA to compensate. I then put on 1/4" spacers to get the negatgive 1/4" offset. This was based on some good advice from fellow Stalker owners. Somewhat disapointing is the fact that the vtos actually weigh a couple of pounds more that the S-10 wheels...the reason for this is that VTO (and perhaps Compmotive) simply adds material to the back of the hub to achieve zero offset, rather than actually moving the hub in toward the car to achieve the proper offset. I am sure this is based on economy and the fact that most of their wheels are made for British cars that typically have @ 1" positive offset. For sure, Team III welds their centers to the exact offset position required and thereby creates a minilite wheel with less weight. One simply has to weigh the cost implications before making a decision. To be sure, I am very happy with the the VTOs and they certainly improved the cars appearance. Fuctionally they are just fine.
