SkinnyG Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Can someone throw a tape measure on one of these, and tell me what the overall length is? http://home.btconnect.com/gwiddicombe/kitcar/Pics/IMG_2685.jpg Early Lotus were about 6", but this looks longer - maybe 9"? Thanks.
scannon Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 SV or standard? The picture appears to be a RHD car, will a LHD measurement be the same? Exactly where do you want the measurement to be taken?
SkinnyG Posted December 30, 2011 Author Posted December 30, 2011 Here: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/skinnyg/Misc/pedalbox.jpg I'm after a standard chassis, if there is a difference. L/RHD should be the same.

Thanks. Is this a picture of your car? Would you like to be included on the Canadian Caterham Owners List?
SkinnyG Posted December 30, 2011 Author Posted December 30, 2011 No, this is a picture of my car: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/skinnyg/DSC04259.jpg It's not really a Caterham, so I'd have to decline.
scannon Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 Thanks for the clarification. 7 1/4" on my '04 SV with LHD. The S-3 Caterhams are smaller but I don't have a measurement for them. I ordered a new pedal box cover and when it arrived it was an obvious non-fit. I returned it for the correct one.
breezy7 Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 My standard size LHD chassis measures 7". Mike
Kitcat Posted December 30, 2011 Posted December 30, 2011 I got 6 3/4 inches (by placing a ruler up to your arrows on my computer screen, don't thank me:)).
Paul Hill Posted December 31, 2011 Posted December 31, 2011 When Caterham went to this style master cylinder/pedal mount some time in the later 80s they offered a retrofit kit for older cars to provide a sealed (?) firewall upgrade. Sadly they have been out of production for quite a while or this would have been an easy answer to your pedal/master cylinder mounting issues. I have an early ('74-75) short cockpit S3 Cat basketcase that was missing these components as well, have so far come up short in finding a kit or parts other than the aluminum casting of the older style. If anyone has any pieces around... missing the pedals as well. Or can someone send me a sketch with the appropriate dimensions so I can fab my own? I do have access to pedals that I can pull a pattern from. Thanks
