zuspiel Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 I have a 2003 S3 with the Caterham USA "Supersport" Zetec (ITB) and I'd like to check/play with the TPS calibration to see if I can make it idle by itself when cold... I had a look yesterday and didn't see any obvious candidates for the TPS. Anybody know where to look? Thanks a bunch in advance!
11Budlite Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Not sure what type of ITB's you have but with my Zetec/Jenvey setup it's located at the end of the throttle shaft on the rear ITB. If you have the setup with the TWM ITB's the linkage is a little different if I remember correctly. Here's a photo of my setup with the TPS circled:

zuspiel Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 Thank you so much, Bruce! I have TWMs and the second pic is spot on! (except my trumpets are longer). I found the little bugger w/o any problems, now. I'll have to crawl under the car this weekend to see if I can pick up the voltages. Between the filter backing plate and the big bundle of wires that runs under the intake, I can't really get to it from the side... Thanks again!
11Budlite Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 zuspiel - You're welcome, glad I could help. Have you checked the airflow through each individual port to see that they all flow the same? Adjusting that setup looks like it'd be a PITA, especially with it installed in the car!
zuspiel Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 Yeah, it'll be fiddly if I do have to mess with the linkage. Access from underneath may be ok, though. Haven't check the airflows, yet. Currently, I'm mainly trying to get it to idle when cold. It runs fine once it's warmed up...
