The Caterham SP/300R is its first all-new customer car since the slow-selling, Lotus-Elise-rivaling Caterham 21 from 1994, and it's not for the faint-hearted. This extreme track-only model will be limited to 25 units a year, roughly half of which are expected to sign up to a European one-make series, while the other half will be put to use as expensive toys. It's aimed at owners of track-biased road cars, such as a Porsche 911 GT3 RS or Ferrari 430 Scuderia, who want to take their hobby to the next level and still have enough dollars left over for some plush everyday transport. Forget cut-slicks, rollcages, and stiffened suspension. The SP/300R isn't a road car with a studded collar -- it's a full-bore track weapon."

Way ahead of you Karl. Croc will still be out of town. I have already put my name on the list and hopefully will get to take it for a couple of Laps. I figure having a Caterham will give me a little extra shot.

 

Who knows, I could always find a little more room in the garage since my oldest got married and moved out on New Years eve. :cooldude: Do you think the wife will buy that it's safer?:ack:

I think it would be much safer than a regular Caterham. Plus it is such a pretty color she is sure to love it.

Tom,

 

First: There is much more car all around you than in a Seven.

Second: You and a passenger sit much lower and protected than you do in a Seven.

Third: Each seat has it's own roll proection device. A Seven only has one.

Fourth: It doesn't rquire a top due to the anti rain aerodynamic design.

Fith: They will take the yellow car in on trade.
