pi7ot
I was wondering which direction the company was going to follow. http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/industry/alpine-berlinette-be-developed-caterham-and-renault m
Guest Terry
That Alpine is a trick loking car. Back in the early 80s I owned a alpine A110

Off Road SHO
I wonder what type of supercharger they will use? Centrifugal or Positive Displacement? Tom
scannon
I wonder what type of supercharger they will use? Centrifugal or Positive Displacement? Tom I'm guessing they will be using the MP62 positive displacement supercharger developed by Cosworth for the Duratec engine. Same one as sold by Flyin' Miata for the 3rd gen Miata. http://www.flyinmiata.com/index.php?deptid=5683&parentid=0&stocknumber=03-90010
blubarisax
Maybe it would fit on my Cosworth Duratec motor!
scannon
Maybe it would fit on my Cosworth Duratec motor! It would, the question is is there space under the bonnet for it? It is a fairly compact unit but it does hang on the intake side of the motor. Maybe Caterham will sell their version as an upgrade.
Sean
Maybe Caterham will sell their version as an upgrade. Already in the works. From the press release on the Caterham UK web pages: The latest variant of the Seven can be bought as a new car or existing R300 owners can upgrade their vehicles to R600 spec. However, I believe this is most likely intended for owners of R300s who are/were participating in the R300 race series to modify their existing cars for this new series rather than having to get the new car, and not for those with road cars seeking more power... but who knows? Kitcat
Some designs are so original, and so iconic, subsequent redesigns that stray from the basic concept are doomed: see, e.g., 911, Mustang, Mini, and (IMHO) se7ens, etc.
