Martin Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 The new kits from Caterham, as long as it is not a "Classic", you get a motor for what you are paying? The wording they use is a little confusing to me, sorry. Take the roadsport for example at $40,489, do you get the 170hp motor as standard?
11Budlite Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 You don't get the bare engine or transmission, but you do get the installation parts for the Duratec motor. From the US Caterham website for the Roadsport: Prices from $40,489 *less bare engine and transmission Kit includes all parts to assembly Roadsport including all engine and transmission installation parts and ancillaries, with the exception of a bare 2.0L Ford Duratec engine and a 5 or 6-spd transmission. Customer to supply bare 2.0L Ford Duratec engine and transmission separately. Prices include all shipping, customs and fees for delivery from Caterham factory to Caterham USA in Denver, CO. Price does not include domestic delivery charges.
Martin Posted October 12, 2012 Author Posted October 12, 2012 Ok, I thought it might be that. Just wasn't 100%
lucky dawg Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 And keep in mind, when Caterham says "all parts" they mean not necessarily at the same time.
