fastg Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 lancylad, do you know anyone that has put Kawasaki zx900r carbs on your engine? The problem is that using carbs made for a specific bike there is not a full range of jets available, and these are more complicated because they are CV carbs. There will be a few "jet kits" available, so maybe you will get lucky. BusaNostra used FCR slide carbs, they are actually sold in there own right so you can get all the jets and slides and emulsification tubes ...... I have tried putting different carbs on a different motorcycle and have never been happy with the results. Your trying to install them on a very different engine. But you can never tell they might work great. Graham
lancylad Posted December 22, 2012 Author Posted December 22, 2012 Hi Graham, there are a few companies in the UK who specialize in bike carb conversion, they use this carb on a regular basis, part of their conversion is to open up the main jets to suit the particular engine. I will be going by their recommendations during my project. Appreciate your input, will keep a post going on my progress....Steve
fastg Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 lancylad, that is good news, I am sure they can provide you the parts necessary to be successful. Graham
