jeffs
Does anyone here have any experience with the r500 stack dash? I called Stack and they said that it was a custom kit and they have no information on it, and nothing was included with the car. I'm trying to set the alarms for the oil/water temp, and oil pressure as well as turn off the gear indicator since its not connected to anything (and is just a random number generator at this point). Has anyone programmed these settings, or hooked up the data logger?
MightyMike
I installed a stack ST8130 dash into my old Birkin. It's similar to the dash in the R500, but not as high-end. Installation was rather straight forward; however, calibrating the speedo and fuel level sensors took some time. http://i47.tinypic.com/o60m0h.jpg Edited March 27, 2013 by MightyMike added photo
Croc
Hi Jeff - Caterham USA should give you that information. It is a pre-programmed setup that is not fully configurable like the standard Stack dash. I found what I recall - this may help: http://regins.dk/dashboard_stack.pdf Here is the Stack manual page - may help: http://www.stackltd.com/support3.html Also look at these Blatchat postings http://www.blatchat.com/t.asp?id=174671 http://www.blatchat.com/t.asp?id=163764 Also pages 8 to 10 of the Caterham owners manual has a discussion on configuring alarms. The lap timer needs a beacon installed to work but that will only work on race days because you need a sender unit at the start finish line: http://caterham.co.uk/assets/html/technical/download.html
jeffs
Thanks guys. I think that answered my question (though I have to admit I don't like the answer). The r500 appears to be like an 8130 with parental controls on it. It seems odd that Caterham doesn't have a way of hiding the gear indicator in their display, especially when it really only displays the mood of the dash. Mine usually feels like a 5, but not always.
