TrackMasters at WGI Aug.26-27

VEHICLE: We strongly urge first time Participants to bring a reliable street car, equipped with fairly new street tires. Vehicles prepped for racing are not necessary, and often present a disadvantage to the driver’s ability to learn the basics. We do NOT allow convertibles and roadsters in our school. All vehicles must have a muffler, a passenger seat and equal, off-setting seat belts (harnesses are not necessary). Vehicles must be completely cleaned out, including the trunk and glove compartment.

I think the wording there is to discourage stock like cars. I regularly bring my Boxsters and Miatas as do others. Mine have full cages and run with hard tops. I have run them without the tops also and have seen guys in Miatas with just a roll bar. I think an email to Bill (TM Boss in charge) with a pic of the car might get him to consider it.

If it were a little closer in distance I would seriously consider the track as an option. Great layout and history....it definitely is on my list to try one day.

What seven are you constructing Berg?

Having watched F1, Sportscars and CanAm there back in the day, Watkins Glen is high on my list of tracks I want to dive. Unfortunately,

Email question to Bill Schultz, President of Trackmasters:

Hi Bill,

Would a Caterham with a cage qualify to participate in one of your track days? (Thinking of the upcoming event at WGI.)
