locost7018
I will be upgrading my tired old 1300cc xflow to a Pinto 1600cc next winter and I am looking for transmissions that will fit it. My existing tranny from the British Escort is about shot and there are no parts on this side of the pond to fit it. A T9 with a Pinto bellhousing will work but they are rare and expensive. Are there any other trannys that will fit EASILY. I see Pinto 2000cc and 2300cc trannys for sale but will they fit a xflow? Russ
bigdog
You might define expensive. Seen a used T9 5spd from a UK trans shop for $880 USD. At 35 Kgs it shouldn't be too much to ship. Or you might just have a rebuild kit for your trans shipped over.
locost7018
What was the shops name? Do I have to pay customs fees in addition to shipping?
jlumba81
Eurospeed in Austrailia has some 2nd hand gearboxes. Any car parts will be charged a customs duty fee. I got a customs duty fee of $20.68 for a $567 car part order from the UK. Ebay links for t-9 trans and possible crossflow bellhousing. Almost forgot to mention that you need to check if you need a short or long input shaft. Also few more t-9 links. TheDingo8MyBaby
What is your existing transmission? 2000E? Type 2? Type 3? For a t9, You may want to give these guys a call: http://www.batinc.net/main.htm They deal in Merkur xr4ti and scorpio parts in the US and if they don't have a transmission, they may be able to give you a lead on one. locost7018
Dingo, it is a Type 2 from what I am told with integral bellhousing. Locost Builder in the UK has given me some leads. I will call Monday. I have not had a lot of luck with BAT. Every time I have communicated with them (phone and email) they have been rather snotty to me. bigdog nice links. Thanks. I love Burton Power. I could spent a fortune there. Russ

locost7018
Ross, what is an "integral remote"? Russ
TheDingo8MyBaby
That's a pretty good deal bob. I'd take it if I didn't just rebuild mine. The remote shifter is needed to put the shift knob in the right place. On the 2000E, the shifter is pretty close to the bellhousing. The other thing you may have to figure out is how to mount the gearbox....

Gearbox £595.00 Exchange surcharge £200.00 Shipping to USA £120.00 You may have to pay import taxes when the gearbox gets State side. Prices are GBP and correct at the time of writing this.
