A friend sent me an interesting video on some Japanese guys who drive their ex-Le Mans race cars on the street. It stands on its own merits (who doesn't want to watch Jaguar XJ220LMs and 962Cs running on the highway?) but I caught a glimpse of the owner's 7 (not sure what vintage, appears early due to bodywork) as he saddled up to take his XJ220LM for a spin.

 

The 4-rotor Mazda 767B is pretty cool too.

Cool video. The jag looks a bit skittish. I'm not sure if that's a seven or not. It looks to have a fuel cell on the back. There were a lot of racing 'specials' in the fifties and earlier, many of which predate the seven by decades, but look very similar.

Yep cool! Looks to be a later sevenesque(ish) vehicle to me, based on the rear lighting. I think it is definitely after the fifties, and sixties.

What a great choice to have to make...should I drive my LeMans car on the street today?

 

Did anyone notice how clean the street was when they had all three cars together? Are there such clean roads anywhere outside Japan?
