scannon Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 Some people have asked if all LSiS were welcome at LOG27. Most of the LoCo meeting was about the LOG27 event. When they started talking about the track event I asked if all LSiS were welcome. The answer was a resounding YES! LSiSs will be welcome at all the events including the concours, autocross and track day. There is a class at the concours for Replicas. A number of the Lotus people at the meeting were suprised and expressed concern that owners of LSiS might feel shunned by other Lotus clubs. They consider LSiS to be part of the Lotus family. Registration closes soon, so if you are interested, go to www.log27.com and check it out and send in your registration and check. One thing that I don't think is on the website is that Harry Mathews is going to open his personal collection for viewing on the day after the track day which will be Tuesday. Harry is a genuine car nut and has a large collection of Mclaren race cars as well as Hot Rods, Corvettes, motorcycles and other cars. He also has two racing Elans and an original Elan. He and his son race the two Elans along with some of the rest of the collection. If anyone is interested in sticking around after LOG27 I would be willing to put together some drives in the mountains and/or other activities. Anyone who is a Miata owner might also be interested in attending the Flyin Miata Open House which is the weekend prior to LOG27. It is held in Grand Junction, about a 4 hour drive West of Denver. They also have a track day on a kart track. See www.flyinmiata.com for details. Skip
Al N. Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I think the fear of ostracisim stemmed largely from perceptions about the UK Club and certain comments made by overly purist members. I would love to come out to LOG (mostly to meet you, Keith Tanner, and Alain de Cadenet!), but the stars would have to align something fierce for that to happen.
scannon Posted June 29, 2007 Author Posted June 29, 2007 I just got this reminder about early registration for LOG27. Folks, For anyone who intends to go to the LOG at Snowmass, your registration must be postmarked no later than 30 June, or you will have to pay a $40 surcharge (per person) for late registration. Save yourself some cash to buy those Lotus parts, or liquid refreshment, you need (and who doesn't?) by getting your registration in and postmarked by tomorrow!!! Cheers! Mike PS If you are a member of another Lotus forum, would you please be so kind as to get this info out on that other forum as well?? Thanks!
DeanG Posted July 30, 2007 Posted July 30, 2007 There are still track day spots open. Here is your chance to see if you can match Emerson Fittipaldi's lap times. Lets see, amateur in a Se7en vs. Emo in a Lotus 72 F1 carjavascript:insertsmiley:eek:
