MichaelD
Note: Do not forget to remove the reverse switch from the passenger side of the T-9 prior to removing the trans or replacing the trans. It is very easy to break off the center button. If seats forward doesn't work try removing only the passenger seat. This should give you plenty of clearance and pull the hand brake up as high as you can get it.
coffee break
Is the gear shift on a T-9 in a proper location or is there an auxiliary shifter?
MNlotus
the new shifter came pictured just like this, except it didn't come with the straight shaft like it says. I don't mind though i like the bent shaft because the shift knob face the driver more http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorsport/engine-tuning-parts-accessories/caterham-quickshift-gearlever I just took the old one out and directly put in the new one. If you look under the spring in the pic, its the socket that is responsible for the quick shift. It it much easier to mover the gear lever around in the socket compared to the old shifter.
