Hwy 5 is all paved, infact the whole route there is nothing to worry about other than possible road works.

I drove that route this time last year (in a van), some nice roads, not overly twisty but not bad. Is the plan to it in one day or an overnighter in Waterton Park?

ihckb2 obviously you have not spent much time around Stalkers, I trailered my Stalker for the following reasons: 1) I work out of town and am only back every other weekend so it was easy for me to have everything prepped and ready to. 2) I only had four days off work so was time limited, trailering was easier than driving that distance (1125kms/700 miles) in the time I had 3) SWAMBO does not like to drive the Trans Canada (700 mile of it in a seven) all in one day. 4) SWAMBO would not have enough room for the kitchen sink in the Stalker. 5) In 35 deg C weather (95F) driving 10 hours to Vancouver I would have had to wear long sleeved shirt and long pants to stop ending up like Kentucky Duck. It was a way easier drive with AC or opening the windows at will. Just to name a few. Oh! By the way I see you drove your seven the 352kms/219 Miles to join us - NOT!!!!

Duane, The Insurance Bureau of Canada Inspector will come to your home (if that is were the vehicleis) and give you the VIN, no need to go to them. Stewart

Just booked my accommodation at The Crossing in the Ice Fields for Saturday night Sept 01/12. Stewart
  12. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but I believe that home builts cannot be imported into the US or Canada for road use, for a seven or cobra etc it has to be factory built. Other than that it can be imported as strictly a track/racing vehicle for non-road use. In Canada if a person lies about the importation and is found out the authorities confiscate the vehicle and crush it.
  13. Happy to here she's back on the road. We should set up a blat for the Sept long weekend, maybe with an over night somewhere!!!
  14. Steve, Good to see Her 'Madge' back home and running.
  15. Tom, You were correct; I attached bmp's which did not show up so I replaced them with jpg's LOL!!! Roads where good, nice and twisty, not much traffic and only a little bumpy in spots. Hopefully others will post some pictures as I only took a few. Stewart
  16. What??? Tom, do you need new glasses LOL!!!!
  17. Here are a couple of photo's from the BC 7s Gathering last weekend. Thanks again Chris for organizing this event and your hospitality. Stewart
  18. Steve, Good luck with the carb. I am just about to leave for the BC gathering. Stewart
  19. I'm looking forward to it being back on the road
  20. Brent, I have driven back and forth over the border to many times to count and never had a problem. Do not have any weapons of any kind, declare everything you should (Booze etc). I have never been asked for registration (they know if it is registered and who too as they have camera's looking at every angle of the vehicle and computers checking all kinds of items (including if you have a record or outstanding warrants etc). As it has been said make sure you have your passports (you can even get a passport for a dog or cat if you have one with you) LOL!!! Have a good trip, Stewart
  21. I would think U Haul have them.
  22. Robin, As you live relatively close you should attend the Ambush: http://www.usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=7785 I am sure you will see lots of interesting sevens, have enlightened company and generally a good time. Oh! and did I mention the roads!!!! Stewart
  23. Steve, You are making good progress, keep it and don’t get distracted by the old honey-do-list LOL!!! Chris, Looking forward to seeing the new seven next month. Stewart
  24. That's what happens when you let a sparky near a welder LOL!!!
  25. If I was not working all weekend I would have given you a hand
