  1. Well after travelling approx. 3400 klm (2100 ml) round trip I am back in Calgary and temperatures of upto 37C (90F) through South Dakota, Wyoming and Montana I am glad to be home. I just wish I had a bit more time to spend on the tour, as others have said the driving and people attending were great. Here are the photo's promised earlier. Stewart
  2. I am having trouble attaching photo's through this connection, I will try again later Stewart
  3. Some organizing more photo's taken over the week. I would like to thank Slomove for organizing this adventure and all participants for making this a very memorable event. My part in this is over as I head back to Calgary on Sunday morning when others continue on. Until next time, regards to all. Stewart

  5. While rzempel waited for his repairs to tale effect some of us went up to Crazy Horse. Stewart
  6. Steve, If there is anything you need me to take down for you call me. We will be leaving on Sunday morning, the plan is to stay in Billings that evening. Stewart
  7. If you get chance to participate in this event it is well worth it. I attended in 07 after partially attending the 7-7-7 event put on by USA7s, even though my Stalker was oly half built. The roads in this area that Paul scouted out are soooo smooth and twisty plus the attendees are really good folk. Also the better halves enjoyed the event as well. I had planned on going 2 years ago but a death in the family just before I set off changed that. Stewart
  8. I cannot say I have had a problem with heat driving in shorts either. I expect to be doing this on the Blackhills Tour. Stewart
  9. Steve, You are quicky becoming a tire specialist regarding rotation LOL!!! Stewart
  10. Yes at 7000 ft it is a little chilly but Bill braved it with no complaints LOL!!! It really was a good day. Looking forward to more southern Albertans joining us on the next Blat. Stewart
  11. Yes a good day was had by all. Next up the Blackhills Tour, looking forward to this, after that we should try and do another locally in Alberta with more 7s. Stewart

    Alberta Track Days

Hey Terry, Good to see you back on the forum. I thought Stratotech had been sold, or at least up for sale? Stewart
  14. I am working, a small Canadian based oil company has oilfields in Albania, the company I work for is helping them develop their run down facilities and improve production. It's a third world country but due to its past communist history it is run down, just total lack of reinvestment from the past government. I will be back in Calgary late Thursday evening after being here for three weeks:)
  15. This was taken yesterday, I did not get a chance to talk to the guy. This is in the sea port town of Durres.
  16. Hi Doug, Welcome, good to see another Albertan, I think there are only four or five of us on this site but I may be wrong, what's your completion date projections? Stewart

    Bridge

Try doing that in Rush Hour LOL!!!
  18. Dave, looks like you are doing a nice job on the Leugo, hope you can finish it for the summer. Count me in for a blat in the rockies, I'm sure Darren (Rocky Mountain House) and Brian (Calgary) would be up for it!!!!
  19. I would like to join the group in Custer for the time it will spend there; I just have to make sure my schedule will allow but will not know until closer to the date. I would trailer my Stalker down and would travel with Lancylad all being well.
  20. I imported my 7 (Stalker) to Canada myself; the secret is to prove that it is parts (kit) and not a rolling chassis. I listed all the major parts that would be purchased locally (in Canada) and also what I had to do to assemble the kit, i.e.: trim and fit panels etc. Caterham has an authorized representative in Canada called Super Seven Cars located in Duncan, British Columbia who has the worldwide rights for left-hand drive motorcycle powered Caterham 7’s but will only sell completed vehicles. I chose the Stalker on price, the Super Stalker kit was less than half (40%) the price of a Caterham kit here in Canada and 20% of an assembled 7 from Super Seven Cars, plus parts availability (GM) which most can be purchased from any NAPA store. 21. I would first check with the government on how you stand importing a home built kit car into either the US or Canada, whichever way the vehicle is going. I may be wrong but if it is not a factory built car you cannot drive it on the street only use it on the track.
  22. My point exactly.

    Albania

So here I am in Albania for six weeks working in a place called Fier (oilfield country). This morning (6:30 am) I was in the lobby of the hotel waiting for my ride to arrive to take me to work, there was an English film crew setting up outside the hotel in the rain. A guy came in with a couple of white full face helmets. I made a wise crack that Stig was here, everyone totally ignored me which is what I expected being in Albania. Well at dinner tonight the waiter in the hotel restaurant who had worked in the UK asked me if I had seen the Top Gear crew, Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson and James May as they stayed in the Hotel (Hotel Fieri) the night before. Today they headed to Sarande down towards the Albania/Greek boarder to continue filming. The program will be aired next year. I am just disappointed that I did not get to see and meet them myself, I guess that’s my excitement for the trip!!! Stewart
  24. YUP! you can tell it's spring in the southern hemisphere. Looks like a great day out. Stewart
