if i'm not running around town in my birkin, i'm out in the desert in my pinzgauer. that's why i have to sell the seven, i'm converting the truck into a mini-camper and need to do alot of upgrades. overland stuff is expensive!

yes phil, my car is stiill available, just took it for a blat yesterday. i don't know if the engine was from a fiesta, focus, or what, but it was from a 2007 and i don't know if anything was changed on it besides the fuel injection. tom in colorado built it and he may know. i think the tonneau may fit with the cage, and the doors should, but the previous owner cut some brackets on the original doors and they would need to be re-welded to work. he also built some new doors with more elbow room, but they are not finished and should fit as well with some work. the top will definitely not, but it is in good shape. i have the original windshield and rollbar, and they mount at their original points, as well as the cage. i'm running 195/50 tires on front and 205/50 on the rear, but don't know if the 15 inch wheels are the same width. i would guess they are. there is no heater, but it's not needed as it gets very hot inside, mostly on the passenger side. there may be wiring for a heated windshield, i don't know. yes the car is metallic green. feel free to ask more, or message me for anything. i'ld love to see it go to houston, as that's where i was born and raised. i'm still a texas boy at heart.

Club Member 30 Location: las vegas Se7en: birkin Author Posted just now Hello Gregory, I'll do my best to answer your questions. The engine was a donor from a 2007. I don't know if it was rebuilt before going into the car, or what may have been done internally. It runs very strong. It has Fuel Air Spark Technology (FAST) XIM fuel injection system with their modules for fuel and ignition, and it was tuned on a dyno. I don't know if the horsepower was from crank or wheels, sorry. I don't know the final drive, but the differential is from a Subaru WRX. I have a clean title as an "assembled vehicle - '64 Lotus," and it's licensed as "replica -64 Lotus," SMOG exempt. I am retired and have lots of free time, and I'ld be happy to show you the car anytime. I don't autocross or track at my age, but the previous owner said he did do some autocross on occasion. He lived in Montana and had the car completely built by Tom Carlin at Birkin Direct in Colorado. You're welcome to private message me anytime and I can provide my cell number, if you have more questions, or prefer to talk direct. Thanks for your interest Gregory.

This car was dealer built and I have been the second owner for the past six years. It's a 2009 Birkin S3 with a 2-liter Ford Duratec engine with F.A.S.T. fuel injection and 5 speed Ford T-9 transmission. (203 hp and 1370 lbs) Options included are the wide track front suspension, fully independent rear suspension, Wilwood ventilated front disc brakes, and GAZ adjustable coilovers. It also includes the original windshield and roll bar, as well as the shown in pics custom windshield with full rollcage (bolts to original mounting points). The car has 4-point harnesses, fifteen inch Enkei wheels with Bridgestone Potenza RE 71R tires, a well used tonneau, top, and side doors. It is in good condition and licensed, titled, and located in Las Vegas. i drive this car weekly and I just turned over 10,000 miles this week. It is being offered for $27,000.00, thank you. -Rick

You don't need racing shoes, you can save yourself some money by going to your local sporting goods store and buying "wrestling" shoes. they're thin-soled, very narrow, and much less expensive.

Davemk1- I don't know what things are set at now, will see what that is next week. JohnCh- the tires are not wearing badly at all, just a touch more on the outside quarter, just in from the edges of the front tires a little. (i'm hoping the toe is a touch too much) the camber appears to be pretty straight upright. the rears abe wearing beautifully even. I think I have a good alignment shop and they will put it up this week and see what we are starting with, then discuss what adjustments to make at that time. I do have Birkin shop numbers to help make sure things go right. I've only had the car (bought used) for a year now and just replaced the original tires that came on it yesterday. it's a street car I just use for fun. I think i'm good now. I thank everyone for their advice and time. I love learning this stuff!

allright, thank you all for contributing. everyone knows more than me and I am trying to learn and understand my car as best as I can. I appreciate any and all help I can get.
-
nobody knows what their camber and toe-in is set at? hummm, interesting...

it's time for new tires and alignment. I know what I want to set it at, and I love the way it handles now. however, the way these tires have worn, I know I need to make some adjustments. I also have the factory recommended numbers, but I would like to hear what everyone out there is using on their cars. thanks in advance for your help.

thanks everyone, i'm going to work on it. alfnose- that white car with black accents looks beautiful!

I would love to see a pic, that would help me a lot. thank you for helping.

http://www.usa7s.net/vb/attachment.php?attachmentid=13304&stc=1ok, let's try it another way. as my car is set-up this plexiglass wing drops over these two pins attached to the windscreen tubing. what I can't figure out is what holds it on, to prevent it from lifting up and flying away, and what keeps it at the angle I set it at to deflect the wind?
-
being pretty new to my Birkin, there's so much I don't know yet. i'm slowly learning, doing simple things first. the clear windwings that slip on 2 short posts along the windshield were not on my car when I got it. I put them on and there is nothing to keep them adjusted. they flap around as they please. how are they supposed to be locked into position? I have a few ideas, but I really should know the proper solution first, before I start modifying things.
-
thanks slomove. PS-(if I hadn't just bought my Birkin 10 months ago, I would have waited and bought yours without blinking an eye)

found some today at autozone, made by dorman products (part #03670) called "speedi-boot." installed the driver side and ran out of time, will do the other side tomorrow. looks and fits just like the old ones. $15.00 each.

rubber boots for my steering arms have dry rotted and need to be replaced. anyone know what boots I can use, or where the steering arms came from?
