1. Tom, I've gone from my "heavy" 2000lb Exige S to a Lotus Kart. It weighs 170lbs, wet. ;-) One day I'll work my way up to a 7.
2. I figured my Exige S has enough Lotus DNA that you'll let me post this video here.
3. Yeah, we don't travel. What happens at NJMP F1 track stays at NJMP.
4. Tom, that was nothing. Come on a karting race day.........the number of motor homes is amazing. You just saw the group that was practicing!
5. Hey Tom, I've been getting into racing karts with my two sons. We have a garage full of them and are usually at the F1 track on the weekends. Will have the Exige S out this week at NJMP with Schattenbaum PCA. I'll make sure to find a track day to join all my 7 friends this year......I have some ideas for a new video ;-)
6. I was watching from the F1 track while you guys were flying around the track on Saturday. Saw Doug when he drove over near my garage when his R500 overheated. Gave him as much advise as possible on things to check and figured his electric fan was not functioning. Sorry I didn't come over to talk......I was finalizing my setup on my own terror of the track and couldn't be distracted ;-)
7. I figured the Seven guys would fit right into this and feel right at home ;-)
8. I have had this for a number of years and it has been great fun. Every time we have a party the guys are lined up wanting to try it. During the winter you can have as much track time as you want without leaving your house. Want to relieve some stress? Get into the cockpit and the world melts away pretty quickly in this. Time to let someone else have all the fun. A new Hyper Stimulator (http://www.hyperstimulator.com/personal/gp.html) is $2,995 + shipping + computer+ monitor + audio system + software, etc. I am selling mine complete for $1800. It has a replica F1 steering wheel that is designed by Thrustmaster (the controls on the wheel are not functional). Many types of racing software come with this (Grand Prix 4, Grand Prix Legends, F1 2011, F1 2002, GTR Evolution, Race 2007 & Grid). Couple of comments; I am 5'11" and 210 lbs. Any larger and you probably won't fit in it (the pedal box is adjustable for length, taller or shorter will fit, just can't be wider). You need to be computer savvy. The software has almost unlimited setup configurations and just about everything is customizable. The monitor pictured does not come with this, the monitor included is a Samsung Syncmaster 17". Computer is a Sony VGC-RC320P (3.2GHz Intel Pentium) 2GB RAM. Running Windows 7 64 bit. Audio system is Altec Lancing 2100 (50 watt amp with sub) plus a bass shaker built into the frame. Local pick up only (Princeton, NJ)! I will not ship this.
9. A short video I shot at Petit Le Mans 2012 where Alex Job Racing had it's Lotus Evora GT and Rebellion had it's Lola B12 "Lotus". Thanks to Alex Job Racing and the entire team for proving access to the pits and the paddock areas.
10. I really like the Glen and have done many track days on it in my Lotus Exige S. Don't want to rain on your parade as I know how much work these things are.....but why wouldn't you consider having the event at NJMP as the track allows 7's and there are plenty of hotels near by for the entire event? Great "central location" for tri state area (as well as all points North & South & West) and fantastic track facilties plus a club house with a bar, private dining, etc. etc. Just saying.......
11. Love the sound of your engine! I am surprised you run the curbing (which is probably the reason you spun coming out of the chicane, hitting the curbing unsettled the car) as your Seven is much lighter than my Exige S and the curbing unsettles my car in a number of areas on Thunderbolt so I get right up to it but do not go on it. Great driving Mike!
12. Hey Tom & Mike, it's only a matter of time. When the right deal comes along I'll bite. Need to get my track garage first though ;-) In the mean time I'll just hang with your group and shoot video's, ask lots of questions and buy a few rounds drinks at the bar to hear all the stories.......
13. Greetings. A number of you know me from various track events as I own a track prepped Lotus Exige S and enjoy hanging out with the Lotus Seven groups. In between run groups I shoot some video just for fun. Here are several videos that are all Caterham focused that are not the norm.....
