  1. Any one looking for the ultimate Bike Engined 7 ? Would need to be a UK import. In race trim only 390 kg in road trim 410kg 210bhp at wheels and 14500rpm
  2. Hi Guys It's been a while since I posted here. Forgive me for my sin! Thanks Croc and everyone else who has offered some kind words. Croc (cough sorry clearing my throat) its 22 current records. :driving: Yes any damper can be revalved but I can 100% say that there are light years between each end of the market. Sometimes we even see high end brands that dont adjust as we would like or expect. You would be surprised. We get the manufacturers to build new to our spec as we have such close relationships with them. No need to take them apart again. Penske, Quantum and Ohlins all have a 2 way damper that doe not need a reservoir. Check out our primary suspension website at http://Www.raceshocks.uk for the Tractive Active suspension. As used by Pagani, Dallara and RUF Porsche. I have used it in the past and will again this year.
  3. It can be resolved but its always a compromise. Currently you will have quite soft springs (nothing wrong there but they are a little to soft) coupled with damping that is not bad at the slower wheel speeds but at higher wheel speed eg holes in the road or race track kerbs there is no significant increase in the damping - it sort of flatlines after 6"/sec. So with an aftermarket damper you can tune this out - particularly with a two or threeway unit. I would recommed slightly heavier springs but quite a bit more compression/bump damping. This won't hurt the cars ride over the more general stuff but will help on track or over those frost heaves you speak of. Of course you could just slow down:blueangel:
  4. Running a full closed loop paddle shift system is the way to go on protecting both the gearbox and engine. It will block downshift (It simply won't do them) if the revs are to high for the corresponding gear below. They always perform a perfect gear change and so gear wear is significantly reduced and that engine remains unexploded. Hope you get it sorted. I snapped a cam chain on my 1396 last year at 10500 revs. Lucky it was just a few valves and tapets/followers. I now have a top spec 1396 Mistral with 205 at the rear wheels. Its about as much as a 1396 can do with longevity built in. Hoope you get yours sorted soon.
  5. Hi All Hello from Wales - UK A true coincidence that I have come across your forum and that one of the busiest topics is the Handling thread. I'll make no bones about it I have joined the forum for the obvious marketing benefits it could give me. However I won't "sell" anything and I will always give you my honest opinion based on my experiences not on what I may or may not sell. I'd like to make some new friends here also. I hope one or 2 of you have heard of my business and that I can be of some help and information. Me I have owned a 7 since 93. The first a live axle crossflow. In 1998 I purchased a Clubsport 1.8K with 6 speed box and in 2001/2002 built my current car (well sort of - it was an R400 at that point). I have been Sprinting (Autocross to you guys) and hill climbing since 2002. I was the L7C Competition Sec for 6 years (Stepped down this year) and have a few FTD and competition wins to my name. The R400 soon became more competition orientated and had an Elite sequential box, paddle shift and Ohlins 2 way race dampers fitted in 2005. I had a "big one" at the end of 2008 season having already won my class and Overall speed championship hitting a tree at over 87mph. Climbed out unscathed and rebuilt the car over the winter on a new chassis. In 2011/12 I converted the car to a Hayabusa7 with 1400cc engine. Meteor Motorsport grew from my interest in the 7 and more particularly its handling. I raced MotoX as a kid and understood bump and rebound. I think this helps a lot. So as I seemed to have a well sorted car people asked advice - I would guide them toward a suspension supplier and so on - then I started to sell the dampers on set ups I specified. Now Meteor sells most of the aftermarket suspension to the 7 community in the UK. I found your site as I have been gaining more and more customers for your part of the world and thought I would introduce myself here. So if you have any questions I will try and answer. In fact our Nitron Spec is over 4 times softer in rebound than the regular Nitron Setup in Rebound. So if you have any questions I will try and answer.
