  1. Head to Red River and say hi to Chris & Debbie Yates at the Three Bears Lodge. They're from northern England, and Chris has a long history of amateur racing, incl formula Fords, vintage, and Caterham. Chris also runs the local ski school and one of his sons, Tom, runs the Snowboard school. The nightly smores roasts at their fire pit are a delight - so much fun to get to know the Yates's and other guests. Granted, I'm biased because most everyone in Red River is connected to Texas in some way.
  2. Dallas, Tx.

  4. Thx, David. Appreciate the kind words.

    Temp Sender

I tested a bunch of temp senders a while back, and the resistances vary dramatically from model to model and even among duplicates of the same model - all from the same manufacturer. Resistances are non-linear, and while these below aren't VDO, the behavior is similar to what you'll find with VDO: http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=27648&g2_serialNumber=3 If you get lucky and find a compatible sender that has the same curve as what you have today but is only offset by a static resistance, adding a discrete resistor inline could work. If the curve is different, however, choosing a resistor becomes a task of picking the range of temps where it's most accurate, ignoring values outside that range.
  7. Linked a couple of videos on the original post: -Engine startup and engine bay view -Shift light demos
  8. Bump. I had two layers of SunTek clear bra/paint protection film installed on the rear fenders.
  9. Correct - purple is no more. All yours.
  10. Yes, mine has two pneumatic struts in the middle, but they aren't visible in the above picture.
  11. This should clarify it. Below is the garage mount. http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=28841&g2_serialNumber=4 The tilting platform latches using another coupler welded to the movable platform and a ball welded to the tongue/frame, both circled in green: http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=30267&g2_serialNumber=2
  12. Nope The entire trailer fits in my 20 foot long garage without any modifications.
  13. Thanks for your interest, Mike. I'll sell the trailer separately after the car is sold - just updated the listing to reflect this.
  14. Car is sold. I'll list the trailer separately.
  15. LOL - Thanks. It took way too long to sand all that chalkboard paint off. :smash:
  16. Yeah, the timing of my listing will likely exclude the northern half of the country. I'm not in a hurry (no fire sale price ), and might appreciate the opportunity to continue driving it until the spring when the buyer pool widens substantially. That's correct on the powdercoating sequence. I completed the entire car, then took it apart to have the frame & suspension bits powdercoated, then did final assembly.
  17. Thanks, Bob. I hope to have that figured out in a few days.
  18. Repainting complete. I went with metallic blue & metallic black. After I got the car stripped down, I was amazed how much rock chipping there was on the rear fenders. Once a little more time passes for the paint to cure, I'll put some paint protection film on the rear fenders (EDIT: I fixed the rock chips, in case that's not obvious). Once the weather is a little nicer, I'll take some better pictures. Finally starting the car today, after sitting silent for two months, was music to my ears. Reflection looking down at the hard top after I finished polishing it http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=30194&g2_serialNumber=1 http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=30190&g2_serialNumber=2
  19. Welcome! I would absolutely share them if I had either the drawings or numbers, but those reside with the local fabricator I used. Alternatively, I think user jevs here on usa7s may have some actual CAD files laying around; you might check with him.
  20. I towed mine since I never found an applicable form/permit to legally allow driving it to/from the weigh station. I received a temp tag (to use until real license plates arrived) only after completing registration & title, which was well after the visit to the weigh station. Are you saying that there is a form that allows you to drive the car before registration & title? If so, do you happen to have the form number? (I know of one, but it's only to be used during transfer of ownership, such as if I buy a car from a private party, they keep the license plates, and I drive back home without any plates)
  21. It's time to put an end to the plastidip experiment. It was peeling in a few places, gasoline drops eat it like nobody's business. More than anything, it attracts dust like a magnet, and I still never managed to wash it and end up with a streak-free appearance. So, I've removed alll the plastidip and am getting quotes for a new paint job, which will probably be a medium blue with black accents. I'm also sorry to say that between kids, aging parents, and work, wifey & I aren't finding much time to drive the car. I'll be listing it for sale upon painting completion, but I'd be okay if it didn't sell until after LOG since we were looking forward to that trip with it.
