  1. Your so lucky! ... You can back out! ... I've got a BEC (6 sequential speeds forward...Reverse by "Push"). ... Not much snow in Ann Arbor this year I see. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gifBusaLoco2006-12-04 18:37:58
  2. Looks lovely in polished "aly", doesn't it? Do you have some pics of the cockpit? ...Why is your car on the grass? http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/biggrin5.gif
  3. You may be right but if (when) I install the mechanical reverser I will be then able to drive backwards in 6 gears. (That's scary!)
  4. So what is really better? ... Bigger (Car) Engines or Lighter (Bike) Engines? ... What's your poison?

  6. Thanks! I also live by the famous words of General George Armstrong Custer ... "I don't care how many of them there are, they are just going to have to take their chances."BusaLoco2006-12-04 15:16:58
  7. You have a keen eye for detail!
  8. Yup, the engine comes with the tranny. It is the standard 180 BHP Busa engine. The Kit manufacturer (DEMAN) has a 350 hp turbo and I know I can get one (that is properly plumbed) for the car. see pic below: http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20061204_132237_Picture_007_Lar.jpg We are quite content, for the moment, with the car as is. It will still get us from 0 - 60 mph in 3.42 secs and my son (the mechanic) and I are planning to buy a second Busa and do a 1500 cc conversion (just for fun). ... I'm told we can tweek a 1500 cc Busa up to about 250 BHP and not add any weight and you know what that means! Cheers! BusaLoco BusaLoco2006-12-04 18:14:40
  9. This One Gets My Vote ... ... Use caution and be courtious when you overtake !

  12. Well you asked for it....By the way my car is a BEC and the tranny lives in the engine. I can't seem to post pics in this window so I added them to the original post!

I am really not all that computer savy and , while I did try to send him a few links, I am really not all that confident that he received anything at all. Sorry if this is a waste of forum space but I will take this opportunity to post a few pics. Hope this works slngsht! ... gosh darned wazzit button thingy! ... 14. Greetings Fellow Delusionals, Yes Dan Mann (hence DeMan) does offer an electric reverse. In fact, I ordered mine with one. I'm still waiting for it to arrive. ... Dan's a very busy guy and he said he wanted to work with a couple of prototypes before he sends me mine. Notwithstanding, I thought it would be a good idea to do some research about mechanical and chain driven reversers too! The good thing about electric (as opposed to chain) is that if the reverse blows up you can still drive home. So that leaves Mechanical (box) and Electric. The downside about electric (from what I have heard) is that they are dead slowwwwwwww. BusaLoco2006-12-03 11:36:39
  15. Greetings again Fellow Addicts, Thanks for the info on where to get parts. .. You are right I have been doing some investigation on my own. .. I am kind of leaning toward a mechanical box. .. But I have heard some horror stories and am wondering about reliability , loss of power, over heating, spilling oil, noise, etc. Has anyone got some stories to tell?BusaLoco2006-12-03 10:16:13
  16. http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/ack2.gif Hi Fellow Addicts, I'm new to this forum and quite honestly I'm not even a US citizen. Nope! No Green Card, Nuthin! ... (Like I'm Canadian ...eh.) But I am nuts about 7's and have been a weekend warrior building (well assembling) a Busa Powered Deman Motorsport SR7. The project is pretty much complete and it's an absolute Rocket! However,as you well know Bike powered cars don't have reverse and I was wondering if anyone here has any opinions (or experiences) concerning Reversing options: 1. Electric 2. Chain Driven (ie Caterham / Westfield) 3. Reversing Boxes (Quaife, etc.) 4. Just Get Out and Push! http://www.usa7s.com/forum/uploads/20061203_071508_My_Main_Squeeze.jpgBusaLoco2006-12-03 07:31:07
