We suggest sawhorses rather than jackstands, much more stable. Harbor Freight has some adjustable height horses that work well. Go to the dollar store and purchase some "pool noodles". Slit them and tape over the top bar of the horses. The noodles are also very handy for the bonnet; you can slit them and place over the end to stand the bonnet up or on the bottom edges to lay it down with no paint damage. "Road Wrap", the clear low tack plastic wrap is great to cover the paint work on the chassis and wings while assembling the car. It will prevent many "oops" that WILL happen during the build. Caterham shows silicone spray being used for hoses to allow them to slip on easily, it also allows them to slip off! We prefer some dish detergent and water to lubricate, it is water soluble, so it mixes with the coolant.

Seeking advice from 7 owners in NY / NJ
Mark IV replied to rs2324's topic in General Sevens Discussion
We have some customers in the NY/NJ metro area that will let you "try on" their car. If doing an "R" be sure to option the weather pack, otherwise no wipers and most states require them for registration/inspection. We have a customer that moved to a state that requires wipers and the cost to install was well more than the weather pack option. Plus, you can option the interchangeable Aeroscreen so you have a heated full windscreen for the road and the Aeroscreen for the track. -
Contact Greg at Time Machines Motorsports, he has the covers from Caterham in stock. They are very nice and fit all chassis and roll bar/cage types. greg@timemachinesmotorsports.com or 716.407.0975

The Regular Summary of Classified Ads of Se7ens Found For Sale
Mark IV replied to Croc's topic in Cars For Sale
While we could arrange storage, this will not work. Canada doesn't allow a Canadian citizen to enter Canada with a US registered car unless it is a rental with a copy of the rental agreement. An employee of Transport Canada tried to drive his non-conforming car that he keeps in a winter home in the US and was refused entry. Sounds like a good idea, but doesn't work. -
I would suggest you visit www.clubcobra and review the threads about Finish Line's customer service or more so, lack of it. There are other suppliers of the Cobra type visors.

Once more we are planning our "Laps@Lunch" event at the 2023 United States Vintage Grand Prix at Watkins Glen on September 10. This will be open to all Caterham's (and Superformance cars) at NO COST for the laps! Only your admission is required. As we have for the last 13 years the Glen offers us brisk paced laps on the full Watkins Glen International track. No helmets are required, and passengers are welcome. Here is a video from several years ago: And if you are coming be sure to be in town Friday afternoon for the "Old course recreation" that brings the vintage race cars down to Franklin St. for a show and then laps of the 1952 road course. You will never have a better car related time! If you plan to attend, please register your intent with an email to: rick@timemachinesauto.com so we can save space for you. The laps will be around 12-12:20 on Sunday and we will meet up in the paddock (details to be provided before the event) and waivers will be signed, and wristbands issued. A good time will be had! See you there.......
